In the very heart of the Alpilles mountains, in a magnificent garden among the jagged rocks of Les-Baux-de-Provence, la Cabro d’Or is a Provençal country house that feels like home. Geneviève and Jean-André Charial have conceived it as a place of unspoiled, natural harmony and simple happiness.

Michel Hulin, the chef of la Cabro d’Or, takes his inspiration from the fresh produce of the organic kitchen garden and the virgin olive oil of the Baux Valley.

The surprising, creative freshness of his cuisine is complemented by the warm and elegant atmosphere of the dining room of this gastronomic restaurant.

This was our first meal in Baux-de-Provence that began our two week stay. Everything was perfect! The food, the service and the atmosphere. We could not have been happier. Thank you for a memorable experience!

The lunch was excellent value and the quality of a 1-star Michelin restaurant. The food was beautifully presented with great flavours, in particular the chocolate/cherry dessert. Normally, when wines are provided as part of a set menu the quality is not always the best but the white and rose wines provided were very well matched to the food.

Gorgeous setting in garden of hotel. Really good doesn't describe the quality of the food and ambience. It was all excellent. We were seated immediately. Also our dietary needs were accommodated, which is really unusual in France (if you don't eat meat).

The food was outstanding, the setting and ambiance superb. Service, however, was a bit erratic. We felt a bit rushed at the start of the meal and then after coffee we really battled to attract the attention of staff. After asking for the bill, we waited a very long time and eventually my husband went himself to find the till. Only about half the tables on the terrace were occupied so it was not a problem of being understaffed. No one even seemed to notice us leaving, and we felt slightly let down - which is a pity considering the food and setting were so beautiful.

Lovely, romantic enviroment. Excellent service, though somewhat inexperienced staff reciting
the menu. Pate and veal were very good. but fish course somewhat dry. Even though number of diners and time of reservation had been changed, information was not transmitted to dining room.

Mother's day visit with my wife. Wonderful food and , despite being on a set menu, very creative in dealing with food allergies.

We had very high expectations of going to La Cabro d'Or (one Michelin star), though the dinner turned out to be an utter disappointment. A guy pretending to be "a sommelier" decided that his only function is to bring the wine list - we didn't get any recommendations and there was no wine set. Then he didn't speak a word of English - quite appaling for a Michelin-star restaurant, especially that there were a few non-French clients. The food was of variable quality - every second dish was truly good (like foie gras sauteed with rhubarb and strawberry juice), every other - bland and tasteless. Then they attempted to cheat with our bill - charging 160 Euro/ person/ menu instead of 120 Euro. To finish off, their card machine didn't work
