Beautiful little Bistro in historic building. Service excellent and food really well presented and tasted lovely. Good section of wines by the glass as well as an excellent wine menu. The Cod main and the Madeira cheesecake were particularly good. Upper end of price by local standards but great value for money by most European towns.

Delightful looking place but the joke about Madeira buildings being colder inside than the temperature outside held true. We asked if the door to the restaurant could be closed but we’re told this was not possible so proceeded to eat with our coats on. Spoiled a good night.

Early evening meal of mixed hams and cheeses shared tapas style followed by smoked duck starter which was superb. Madeira wine ice cream an indulgence to end. All accompanied by a recommended wine. Excellent service. Altogether a very pleasant experience. Recommended.

Exelent service and very good bistro type dishes. Flavours great and the preparation of the food made with skill. Good quality wines. The price with three courses and bottle of wine very reasonable. High suggestions.

Very good metal. The personale very professionel and kind. Aldo helpfull.
One of the best restaurants in Funchal.
We have eaten many daily "menu do dias" the last 3 weeks - always very delicius.
Specially veal cheeks, cog AU vin and osso buco must have a star in Michelin. The cook in 1811 is fantastisk.
We have already reservated table next january 2020.

We had preordred the Madeira Wine parring menu. It was very good!
I would never at thought a using a Madeira wine with Fish, But at Serical both 5 years and 10 years do work with fish and shellfish.
Thank you and seeing you next year.

Quaint restaurant in city center. Ate inside. Not too noisy although it was full. Good friendly service. Most dishes very good and lamb was excellent. Their steak sandwich is an odd appetizer that has very little steak and should be taken off the menu or greatly improved. Prices are a little on the high side but reasonable for the quality of the food. Good wine selection but a little pricey. Overall a great place.

Nice amenities, the waiters are very nice and helpfull, good food, and being in a Madeira Wine cellar, gives it a unique atmosphere: when you enter the restaurant using the wine cellar, you can smell the fragrance of the wine in the barrels
