About the restaurant 1870

La fachada del restaurante 1870 en Marbella es igual que su nombre, pues se trata de un edificio del siglo XIX en cuyo interior se guisa una comida estupenda.

Su chef Aitor Perurena, es el creador de su original concepto, donde resaltan entrantes como el Pulpo en tempura fina y mayonesa de pesto rojo, o el Carpaccio de gamba blanca, cítricos y huevas. Los segundos, también sorprenden: Albóndigas de choco con hebras de azafrán o el Arroz cremoso de setas y costilla asada. Y en postres, el Mousse de chocolate negro al caramelo, baño ganache de frutos rojos y crocante, es un regalo para los sentidos.

Tener una velada memorable en el restaurante 1870, es muy fácil, pues además de la deliciosa comida, hay diferentes espacios que se ajustan a distintas ocasiones. Un amplio salón principal, otra sala superior expuesta, área chill out, un jardín y una barra, con una decoración preciosista y elegante. ¡Qué más se puede pedir!

The "Avocado upside down and red shrimp 16,50€" emerged as a salmon tartar. To be fair - the waiter did day it contains salmon; he failed to mention the red shrimp had escaped. The discrepancy was blamed on the printers. The printers have more to answer for – whoever decided upon brownish red type on grey background for the English text clearly had no idea this menu would be read in dim lights. With half the guests shining their smartphone lights on the menu, you'd think someone would get the idea - fix the menus, and repair the text while you're at it. We are actively planning our 30th anniversary here, and this disappointment is likely to place us elsewhere.

Over priced for quality and quantity. Service very poor for prices. (€26 for suckling pig leg no veggies)No greet and seat on arrival.Bar service abrupt.Constant asking for things,I even got up to pay at the cash desk!
No checking back,multiple servers.Beautiful building but won't be back.

Well presented restaurant at the back of a historic sugar mill. Good food and varied menu. Don't forget to order sides with your entree as they didn't appear to be included but were not visible on the menu. Avoid the overpriced sliced Jamon for the table offered when you sit down. Service is eager but not always efficient
