6/10Starter: Burrata was small, mussel and clams were half empty. Mains: my friend said her lamb chops were fairly bland and but my salmon was delicious. The side of broccoli was not seasoned at all, was very bland. Service was okay good of been better. Desert crème brûlée was a 4/10 a no but disappointed. The finger biscuit with ice cream was amazing 9/10. Overall I’ll give this place 6/10.

10/10Love this restaurant Pre-Theatre menu is such a sensible size and tremendous value for money.Every time I have visited the service has been friendly and personable, the staff treat me as an individual and respond positively to any requests on the booking.Really cannot speak highly enough; one of my favourite look little restaurants in London.

8.5/10Service was great however one of my guests found her chicken a bit dry and was glad she added a sauce. I think it was possibly a quiet night which let the ambience down. But, the staff were great and really accommodating to my allergies. I would have no issues recommending 42 Holborn

10/10An excellent welcome, and really prompt professional service from the engaging staff. We enjoyed four “small plates” all of which were tasty and well presented. The relatively short wine list provided some interesting options - we enjoyed an excellent Spanish red. We will certainly return on another occasion, and happily recommend this restaurant to anyone.

10/10Just perfect. Let them know I had a show to go to, so they fed me quickly and efficiently.. The staff were all kind and friendly., always a bonus. Food was delicious and excellent value. Will be returning next week.

6.5/10Location is great being very close to Holborn. Service was so quick it made me feel like I was being hassled to hurry up and finish my meal. With the discount, food was good value. Without it, I would feel I overpaid. Food quality was what you expect for the price range. Halloumi fries with pomegranate sauce and honey were the best thing we ate. Tiramisu was the most disappointing- too much cream, not enough flavour. Main meals of sea bass and vegan aubergine were good-average. Good portion size.

6/10I had read the reviews and was expecting a nice meal, but the food was mediocre. It’s pub grub which is being made out to be more than it is with a hefty price tag. It’s a shame because the staff were very nice and service was good, but they were let down by their kitchen.

10/10A really great find! Lovely art deco design with tables & booths having plenty of space between them ( I hate when restaurants cram tables to close together!).. friendly helpful staff & very good food for a decent price! Will definitely return!

8/10Asked for a dry red… Was a pretty sweet red The sirloin was great, chips were average. Service was very good though and ambience was fantastic. Ideal for business meals
