We’ve been to the restaurant a few times now and always really enjoyed it but this time was a bit disappointing. Staff, as always were brilliant and food was good but service was very slow . It was a 90th birthday family get-together so we all enjoyed ourselves but we felt as though we were an afterthought in terms of service. I know the hotel was in the middle of major works which must have affected things and I know the staff were very busy. Won’t stop us going back though.

Lovely comfortable restaurant to sit in. The staff were very friendly. Service was very good and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend to go there. This is the 3rd time I have eaten there.

I booked a table for their very well claimed to be restaurant. Used online booking tool. Booked for 4pm. My and my husband were looking forward for the night out. As we arrived, reception informed that the restaurant is open from 6pm only. Wasted time of booking, preparing, driving there. Such a disappointment that 4 star hotel and restaurant has no decent booking system.

Really friendly staff. The waiting time for our main course was around an hour which was unacceptable. They did give us a small discount for the wait.

The overall experience was very disappointing When we arrived these weren’t expected as the staff were not aware of our dining room booking nor were the kitchen. However the only saving grace being the staff as they were very helpful and clearly embarrassed at the overall situation Clearly the kitchen had not been told as the vegetables were cooked from frozen and not really what were on the menu. The beef turned out to be steaks rather than sliced beef. And a soup of the day starter had been made up from frozen. The overall cost was £ 220 for 4 although we had two bottles of wine at £28 each There was no way food of that quality should cost £40. Per head

Staff not very attentive didn’t know sandwich filings festive tea was not as advertised no refills on the tea, no one came to check if all was well and seating area could be better. Been to better afternoon tea venues!

Very attentive and friendly staff. Small issue with our meal but dealt with quickly. Food lovely very enjoyable . Would recommend., Would return.
