10/10Booking made as it was an through The Fork website, on an afternoon tea week special offer. The Capital hotel is a boutique hotel, just two minute walk from Harrods. The hotel was decorated with the moon and sky theme, it had soft music playing in the background. The service was excellent, the staff were very attentive. The tea was piping hot, it was fascinating watch the tea leaves brew in the small glass teapot. The coronation chicken vol vent was amazing, and the cakes were very well presented on a Alice in Wonderland cake plate. A very enjoyable afternoon tea. I have been to quite a few different afternoon teas and I would definitely recommend this one. I would book it again when I am next in Knightsbridge, even thou I would be paying full price for it. I did ask and the theme for the afternoon tea changes every year. Thank you to all the staff for a great afternoon.

7/10This was for my mother’s birthday and it was ok. I was expecting the whole of the menu but when I mention my nut allergy the kitchen’s suggestion was to exclude all the cakes. These distinguished this as a mad hatters tea party, rather than a big standard afternoon tea. The finger sandwiches were ok and the tea & scones nice, but they effectively took off a whole third of the menu and also served it on a big standard white oval plate, rather than the usual 3 tiered stand that you expect for an afternoon tea. The service from the waitresses was ok, one of them asked if I wanted anymore sandwiches and I said no, but I’d take the cakes (or that were paid for in the price of the afternoon tea) so that my family could eat them. She agreed and packed some up for us to takeaway, but this was still a little under par considering they did not have an alternative cake selection for nut allergy sufferers. It was also unclear from their advertised tea that the cakes would ALL contain nuts

10/10The service and staff at the restaurant were excellent. We requested a pescatarian menu and they accommodated us even though we had booked only an hour before. The food was lovely and hotel has a great ambiance. Would definitely come again.

6.5/10Service was not great - requested water and none was brought. Had to furiously wave to order desserts. The accidentally overcharged us £20 on the bill, we asked for it to be fixed. Then was charged 15% service charge on the bill.

9/10The location and ambience were lovely. Service was a little slow, and there was not much interaction with staff. The food was very good. The tea was good for the first pot, but then they only refilled it with hot water. This was not so bad for a Breakfast Tea, but did not really work with the Mint Tea.

9.5/10The sandwiches and scones are both excellent. The only drawback is that the cake is not special and exquisite enough, and the dessert part has no surprise.

10/10We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the Capital. The afternoon tea was great, and the scones were exceptionally good!!! Not only were they baked for the right time, they were also being served at the right time (temperature). They were among the best 3 we had in the UK. Luz made our afternoon tea experience even better as she was very cheerful and also attentive. She offered to change our tea seeing the ‘fading’ in the colour after the second round.

5/10For a charge of GBP 50 per head I would expect the tea set to be a bit delicate . Turn out the sandwiches and cakes were straight from fridge , the taste was very indistinctive , the bread was not of the same high quality as the bread they usually serve for lunch / dinner at Capital Hotel . The scones were hot and fine. The service was disappointing . There was one waiter serving altogether 3 tables of 6 customers in total . Had to ask twice to get milk for our tea . This afternoon tea experience has changed my pSt good impression on Capital Hotel completely.

10/10Thank you for your great service!! All the plates are really delicious and very beautiful. They are not so sweet that they taste well even for Japanese people. The staffs are very kind and very friendly. We had a lot of fun.

6/10Nice Hotel. The dining room was a bit simple. The pictures are either made on another location or very much edited. The food was total okay. But not more. For £120 for 2 persons either too expensive or not good enough. Service was kind but a bit clumsy. Be aware, they add a service fee (tip) to the check automatically. All in all a mildly disappointing experience.

4.5/10Came here for afternoon tea and asked for the vegetarian option. Got a mixture of vegan/glutenfree(?) afternoon tea and the regular afternoon tea, with the sandwiches being a massive disappointment. We got a cucumber sandwich consisting of slices of cucumber (and nothing else) on what we assume (by the texture and flavour) was glutenfree bread. We never mentioned being gluten intolerant in any way, and even if we were, glutenfree bread does not need to be that dry. Tomato sandwich: same thing. Just tomato and nothing else. The service staff seemed as disappointed as we were, and we got a hastily made egg salad sandwich and a cucumber sandwich (with cream cheese) from the kitchen as a replacement. Half our meal was comped. Strange experience, would not recommend for any vegetarians.

10/10Had tea here this afternoon with my wife and our granddaughter. This was her first high tea. The service was impeccable with the staff continually following up to assure satisfaction. The sandwiches were very nice, the sweets certainly were a delight, but the hit of the afternoon was the scones. Moist, delicious, crumbly - an absolute delight. All in all, an excellent experience!

10/10Lovely having afternoon tea here. Pretty small diningroom with just the right amount of activity. Not to quiet but not to loud. Great music playing in the background aswell. Very helpfull staff who made sure we had anything we wished for. A great assortment of finger-sandwiches, small cakes and the best scones we've ever had. If wanted you can ask for extra servings of all items. Overall a fantastic experience, would really recommend to go here for afternoon tea!
