8/10I'd say the food was ok but nothing amazing. It was pleasant - oh and no white table cloth! Very disappointing. Not really - it was all very nice but somehow lacking something. The staff were excellent though and sitting in the garden was very memorable. In some ways I think the main thing here is the location - it is a bit special

10/10Don’t judge a book by its cover … the outside of the hotel looks nice but no WOW factor however once inside you are more than pleasantly surprised! The staff were very friendly and polite and the hotel very clean. We had a room to ourselves for our afternoon tea and this was very quirky with music playing in the background. Sofas and armchairs in abundance, lovely china and a delicious assortment of savoury sandwiches, sweet treats and teas and coffees. A wonderful way to start our Christmas festivities.

9.5/10If you’re looking for super posh this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for delicious homemade sandwiches, scones, cakes and desserts with all the extras and a smiling staff, this is a lovely place. They set up a beautiful corner of the garden for us then unfortunately a light rain started for just an hour so we did move inside. The Claremont is a small inn but a very classy little place. You may be the only one reserved for tea that day but they still take special care with the preparation and baking.

10/10Hi this was our first visit to the Claremont & surely will not be our last ! A delightful venue - full of beautiful art & furnishings. I loved having an armchair it was so relaxing . The tea itself was faultless & delicious. Really was a hidden gem .
