About the restaurant Agapes

It's a little tricky to find, but once here, it's a quaint and lovely place. The food is exceptional. There are only a few choices in each category, entree, plats and desserts, and sometimes they run out of an item, but will substitute something else. We had an outstanding beet carpaccio to start, yes I do mean beeT. There were pink and yellow beets sliced paper thin with a lovely dressing. Then we had a delicious lamb dish and pork as well. The wine list is very nice, with a good selection in a range of prices. We will be back next year!

Très bon rapport qualité prix. Je recommande. Tout est fait maison. Les tables sont un peu proches des autres. Service efficace et souriant.

The menu is short: 4 entrees, 2 fish + 2 meat main courses, and 4 deserts. Compared to the last several years the quantity and quality of the meal in the restaurant went down.

Fresh and quality products, knowledgeable staff that knows what they have in the kitchen. The waiting time is just what you need to fully enjoy the meal, not too short and not too long. Everything was perfect :)

I have been here several times and it has always been good. The ambience is perfect, the service friendly and professional and the food always delicious. With the Fourchette deal as well it was brilliant value for money. The restaurant is worth going out of your way to visit.

The restaurant is a wonderful place to have a family dinner or a dinner with a small company. Meal is delicious, the atmosphere is warm and calm, and the owners are very polity and friendly. I visit the restaurant every time when I am in Paris.

This is the fourth time we have been here. The food can be a bit variable, and for some reason this time we had a very long wait before we got anything to eat although the restaurant didn't seem that busy. Today, one of the starters (avocado tartare with quinoa) was excellent and one (vegetables with smoked duck) totally acceptable but a little bland. Good choice of wines and the bread was as always very good . Of the main courses, the lobster rissotto was delicious if a little over rich for my taste (but that's probably just me), and the assiette de porc aveyron was very tasty but let down a little by saute potatoes that were burnt black. But the ambience is lovely, and it's always a nice place to go.

Quite good meal, crevettes and also the boeuf both good or better. Did not get the half bottle of wine I asked for, coffee was cold, and did not get discount. Busy and noisy party next to us. But don't speak French, either.

As a photographer the meals were a picture! As a gourmand the food was a delight! The desert with reglisse and fenouil was to die for! Kevin Hayden will be back!

Agapes for Valentines Day was a poor choice - the amuse bouche, laughingly bad, (coriander sweet choux pastry with mint yoghurt) the starter a broth of salty pasta water, the steak for main was good but small for two and the desert an acceptable chocolate tarte. We we're sat upstairs by a crack in the wall with four other couples in a deathly silent room, the atmosphere was best described as awkwardly librarian. Would not recommend or return for €120 for two...oh the wine was ok.

Incredible value even if without the Forchette deal. Great service and delicious food. I also brought my own wine which was uncorked and chilled without fuss for a mere 7 Euro per bottle.
