Sadly the Alfama has changed its menu and no longer has fresh vegetables or basic meat dishes. It all resembles par cooked food that is bought in in vacuum packs and then reheated and served to look good on Tic Tok but is not great to taste. A shame but many restaurants are now going down this pathway. Sadly we would not recommend.

After another restaurant let us down on my husband's birthday (booked 6 weeks ahead) we decided to return to our hotel and fortunately for us they had a table available at Alfama. From the moment we arrived it was a great success. The food and wine were excellent and Paulo and his team ensured my husband thoroughly enjoyed the evening. After we finished eating we noticed the lights dim and assumed they were getting ready to close, then the staff appeared led by Paulo singing Happy Birthday and presented my husband with a beautiful cake, thankfully just one candle!

Our lokal friend was positively surprised of the very delicious high-end dishes and deserts, Distance between tables adds to a private atmosphere. Service super attentive and friendly. Always a pleasure eating here!

It was delicious and we all liked our dishes: various fish ones, and one chicken- based, with vegetables just cooked to the point, a herbal variety of potato-chips, or rice with herbs and pine-nuts. Deserts were also realy creative and yummy.

Paolo is a gracious host, his staff very attentive and friendly, diet requirements were observed by host and cook and the culinary outcome has been just perfect: delicious, well- balanced food in well-measured portions. We will be back!

The Restaurant was fully booked. The manager managed to find us a table for 6. There appears to be a problem with the fork app I was only able to to book a table for, 1,2,9,10 etc strange!

A pleasure to eat here, from the welcome to the freshly prepared food and service we are rarely disappointed. Although we were staying in a different hotel it was worth the effort fir such a lovely evening.

We had a meal in this restaurant in our hotel a week ago and we was surprised (and disappointed) not to be remembered as it was my husbands birthday and they treat us very well. The food is excellent as are the staff who served us both times. We can highly recommend this place which is in the Eden Mar/Porto Mare resort. The prices are very competitive and a discount is applied if you are staying in the resort.

We ordered octopussy as a starter and it was nicely smoked and very soft and tender. As a maine course we had filet minun and I have to say it was one of the Best beef I've been eating.perfectly cooked and seasoned gently!

Absolutely delicious food. Interesting flavors, excellently prepared. Delightful, friendly, professional service. Excellent prices for what you get. My rating ends up as only 9/10 because I don't love the hotel-atmosphere - but that is just a matter of taste. It is clean, adn bright, and elegant ... just a bit sterile for my taste. But, honestly, I would recommend this restaurant to ANYONE.

The staff at Alfama are excellent and offer advice on the dishes available. Our main courses of the regional meat skewer and chicken Milanese were cooked perfectly and the chefs special desert excellent. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
