About the restaurant Algarabía

"This small and cozy restaurant is located right on Union Street, in the center of Madrid's capital. In its clear and intimate space, you can devote yourself to a relaxed and comfortable stay.

Its kitchen offers you succulent Rioja specialties prepared with loving care and craftsmanship, and under a rigorous selection of fresh and seasonal ingredients. All of this results in generous dishes such as the Rioja-style cod and chumarro with onion comfit.

An ideal place with a romantic touch where to taste the magnificent flavors of Riojan cuisine and with a close-at-hand and unbeatable service."

Excellent food and ambience. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Delicious croquettes. I had the pork with caramelised onion and my husband had the baked hake both of which were excellent.

We really enjoyed our evening. The sisters, as well as being charming hosts, were such good fun and to cap it all we had a beautiful meal. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Booked and went to this restaurant while on a trip to Madrid since it was so highly rated. The service is friendly and wonderful and the restaurant is small, beautiful, and charming. The food however is quite ordinary compared to the many other restaurants I tried while in the city

Wonderful hospitality from two charming sisters. We felt as though we were eating in someones private dining room. House Rioja wine very welcome after a day walking about. We each had something different to eat. Delicious saffron chicken and squid stew. When it came time for the puddings two my two of us ordered but three others were quickly dipping their spoons into a moorish custard.
The owner kindy helped us to find a taxi after we happily finished the evening.
A real find.

Nice little restaurant in a central location, only few tables - you feel like sitting in a private house.

Grumpy waitress (bordering rudeness), food Ok, nothing special...but she placed us in uncomfortable table in middle of room and did not change us to another despite all the rest of the room but one table was empty (saving best tables for the potential/to be clients?); she did not want to switch on AC despite it was above 25C ....the restaurant definitely needs to work/improve its service/manners!

The two sisters are a marvelous team! The ambiance is very cozy, almost familiar with the personal attention of Isabel. Pilar comes at the end of the meal for a hello. She cooks delicious meat and fish. We had the merluza, pure with a lovely orange sauce.
Thank you very much!

I would call this the best restaurant I have ever been to, it is run by a chef and her sister, and it is definitely one of the most welcoming restaurants in the world.
