Place is beautifully decorated, but found the food a bit overpriced, especially bearing it mind that it was good, but not great: tuna steak had to be sent back since it was under cooked and the octopus was tasty but a bit burnt. The desserts was very good but particularly pricey. My suggestion to management would be to lower their prices a bit, to attract more people from the neighboring area and to compete with neighboring restaurants (there are nearby restaurants that are better and cheaper).

Atmosphere a bit underwhelming , maybe due to low attendance on this particular night. Starter (clams) and main course (tuna) could have been served slightly hotter...

Disappointed with this restaurant Alkimia - my wife would like to have grilled pineapple instead of sweet potato and spinach with the main course and they refused to change unless we paid an extra 4 euros. My son’s request was Espetada do lombo, it come raw , of course we sent it back and even the second time, it was pretty much the same , and the meat was not good and tender probably low quality Sirloin ( lombo ) and by the way 4 little pieces of meat for 19 euros !!!!! My main course was Octopus which was kind of cold when it got to the table, we ordered a cold bottle of water and it come at ambient temperature, we ordered then a beer and it was not cold enough , No desserts were ordered because of the disappointment with the mains was already huge we didn’t want to continue with the saga. Tables are to close to each other, we are talking 50cm or less , forget about any conversation unless you want the others to listen and the background music loud and poor choice. Ah and of course they FORGET to give you the 30% discount !!! Convenient !

Disappointing dinner We were so looking forward to trying out a new restaurant tonight but sadly it wasn’t a good experience. I asked if I could have grilled pineapple instead of fried sweet potatoes and a spinach dish and they refused. They said I could only have it if I paid 4€ extra. In all the years I have lived in Portugal, all the restaurants I have been to have always been nice to allow us to change our side dishes- but not here. We had the mussels as a starter which were very difficult to get out of the shell and they hadn’t been properly cleaned. My sons lombo skewer came on a wooden skewer and arrived on the table practically raw- we had to send it back. He only received 4 cubes of lombo and paid 19€ for it. It didn’t even come on the hanging skewer apparatus. We asked why and they said only the cheaper cuts of meat did. My husband had the octopus which was ‘ok’ - it wasn’t hot when it arrived at the table and the sweet potatoes were rather soggy and tasteless. Needed better seasoning. The music was rather annoying and quite honestly the atmosphere was a bit strange. The waiting staff , we found weren’t very warm and friendly. On the plus side the pictures on the wall were nice and I loved the salt and pepper pots... which incidentally weren’t on the table- we had to ask for it. Tables are very close together so be prepared not to have a private conversation. Sadly we won’t be returning.
