Annina 1937 is a very good place where to eat in Matera with a fantastic view on the Sasso Barisano. We stopped at the restaurant after a long walk along the sassi and we found a very friendly atmosphere where we had a very good meal.

Our family of 4 (2 teenage daughters) were seated at a wonderful table in an individual cave. Such a unique setting. We were grateful for the cool internal temperatures as it was blazing hot outside. The wine we had was amazing, the service prompt and warm, the food delicious, the prices were very reasonable. We stayed for dessert and coffee to enjoy the ambiance longer. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful scenery and good service. Can sit in site or outside. Food came very quickly and was tasty, but some of it seemed reheated. Waiter gave my girlfriend a rose....

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Relaxed atmosphere and fortunate to get an outside table. The waiter was delightful and the food was just what we felt like - tasty pasta and cod, and good house wine.

Annina 1937 is a little gem in the heart of Matera. The outdoor area is extremely cosy and romantic stretching on a little alley in front of the restaurant. The restaurant inside is stunning. The food is delicious and the wine selection is great. The service was outstanding and the owner of the restaurant is incredibly kind and professional.
