Very pleased with the food and the atmosphere. A little on the higher price for the food but the service was excellent. I had the creme burlee for dessert which was divine.

Absolutely delicious! Cannot fault this place. And such a gorgeous intimate setting too. Went here for hubby's bday. Every dish is amazing. My fav would be the mushroom gnocchi and the arachini while hubby loved their ricotta eggplant pizza

The food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place if you’re after authentic pizza and pasta. Between the four of us, we ordered three entrees (big mistake because we were so full and couldn’t finish the mains!). For main, we had the prosciutto and capricciosa pizzas and gnocchi - wow! Unfortunately, the service was a little slow. We waited a while to grab the attention of one of the waitstaff, so we ended up going to the cash register to pay ourselves. Overall, a great experience!

Excellent Food, good service and lovely choice of Italian wines by the glass. Great place for a meal or to go after the movies like my husband and I did and had the anti pasta plate which had good quality cold meats and cheeses as well as vegetables. Fredrika the Manager is very efficient and friendly. Would recommend this restaurant and we will be back. Thanks for the good service and fabulous food.

The pizzas were the clear winner of the meal - loved the beautifully chewy yet light woodfired dough with the perfect balance of toppings. Other dishes were solid, but noticed a tendency to over season.

Another terrific experience. We had dinner here after the Inner West Beer Fest. Great service and delicious food as always. The special pizza with two kinds of mozzarella was amazing.

Brought our friends from interstate here - they had fond memories of their last visit 4 years ago and were not disappointed this time. Terrific food and service. We shared a variety of pizzas, the Margherita is always the best one!

We came here very early (pre-cinema) and enjoyed a drink and a pizza each. My prosciutto pizza was really good (tip: take the chilli oil if it’s offered); my husband’s salsiccia, provolone and Italian broccoli pizza (from the specials menu) was less successful - a wee bit bit bland, if I’m honest. S&P might have helped but none was on the table and nor was it offered. Overall, it was good and I’d go back but would definitely ask for condiments next time.

About the restaurant

The real deal Making pizza might seem like a simple proposition: you roll out some dough, slap on some sauce and toppings and throw it in an oven. Not so! Only four restaurants in Sydney are recognised by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana in Naples for making authentic versions of the world’s most popular food - and Aperitivo is one of them. So a visit here is incomplete without ordering one of their delicious, crispy-based house specialties. The margherita bufala is the best place to start, but you should also branch out and try one of the tasty variations such as the pizza with eggplant and ricotta salata or the diavoletto with hot salami. The menu at Aperitivo is vast, so if pizza is not your thing then rest assured you’ll have plenty of other options such as the grilled salmon with asparagus, gnocchi with osso buco and roasted sardines with capsicum. Wash it all down with a crisp glass of Prosecco and enjoy the knowledge that your dinner has been given an international stamp of approval. Best dish: tartufo pizza
