About the restaurant Asador Txokolo

Very nice food and service. I had the grilled merlu, and my wife had the cote de beuf. She asked for medium and it was cooked exactly to her liking. Would highly recommend this great place for a true meal and friendly service.

Excellent food and drink menu with authentic service! They are extremely family friendly and have fantastic fresh food! They don't speak perfect English but are very helpful navigating the menu which is available in both English and Spanish. They offer great regional wines and a full bar!

No frills, traditional Spanish steak house. Friendly service and family style steaks that were extremely tasty. Ambience a little flat on arrival (9pm) but gradually filled up and became more lively as the evening developed. Highly recommended!

I was disappointed with the steak. It wasn't cut with the same thickness, so some parts were over cooked, while others areas was under cooked. I enjoyed the restaurant and my wife enjoyed her meal. The service was good and the atmosphere cozy.

The place is in a cellar, traditional Spanish furniture, very bright light. We had booked a table at 9.00 p.m. on a Friday, by 9.45, all tables were taken. Starters were good, especially the venus clams, but dishes were not too big. We had côte de boeif for the main course - 1 kg for four, but you have to be aware that this includes bones and fat, so there is not too much meat. Be sure to order asides like potatoes and vegetables right at the start, otherwise the beef comes as it is. Asparagus is not green, but white, enormously thick, and boiled until very soft, served cold. Postres are delicious, especially the basque specialities. Price including wine 220€ - not cheap.
