Perfect tartare de langustine aux truffes and pied de cochon avec ris d'agneau. The Chef is very friendly!
Another Great meal. Cuisine is modern French beautifully presented and good flavours, but highlight remains meat cooked over open fire in restaurant. A great stop off for dinner on way to ferry, so much better than anything in Ouistreham.
The restaurant had great reviews and the food was fine but I went with two teenage girls and it did not really cater for their appetites or palette. I was under the impression that the setting was more casual from the reviews and instead found a very formal dining experience. That said the prawns starter was delicious and the foie gras perfect. The deserts were very clever too. A little overpriced for what we ate.
we had a great evening with amazing food and will be back
Chef Thierry is a master chef, he is doing his job as an artist of the food, he is also very communicative with his visitors. The only thing that I comment is, there is not a menu in Englsih, that's why we could not understand the intent of the whole menu, we just chose what we could understand. Overall we left the small cozy restaurant very happy.
Excellent tout simplement... :)
Très bon moment.
Super bon, super convivial, ma mamie à adoré le patron ????????
Greeted by the chef patron who was very welcoming Excellent food and service. A great find.
We were given this restaurant as a recommendation from a local visitor. It was amazing! This was our first meal in France and we are sure it will be difficult to beat. Presentation, ambiance, service all perfect! Wanted to eat again on second night but they are closed. Had the sole, soup, filet mignon, dessert all good.
My second visit, and just as good as the first.
A real find! We had a fabulous meal
Very nice resturamt with excellent service and reat food.
10/10 - tres bien!
Très belle table
The chef is also the host, cashier, person who opens the wine and takes the orders, go figure. There were a few other helpers but they seemed unsure of their role and service was not as smooth as it could have been. The wine that was suggested to us since we were not familiar with many on the list was not good, but we sipped it anyway, just to get on with the evening. The chef seemed rushed and not willing to listen to what we were looking for in a wine, and seemed annoyed we could not read the menu in French ( we are not French). The rack of lamb was not a rack but some pieces of lamb on a plate, many pieces were undercooked and tough to chew, other pieces were well done. The sea bass was bland, with a gravy like sauce that was pasty with undercooked peas on the side. The desserts did look good but after 2 and 1/2 hours for a simple salad and entree we did not want to wait. The open fireplace where some dishes were cooked was nice to look at and a plus to the evening.
Our best meal in France. Located in a 100 yr old building the owner and chef does much of cooking on the large open fireplace in the main dining room. Great calvados based cocktails. Fun amuse bouche. Regional cuisine. Awesome cheese plate and desserts. The apple ice sorbet and calvados to cleanse the palate was a great touch. The chef-owner came by to chat with the family. And he went out of his way to provide a kid friendly entree for my son. A definite hit!
Great restaurant and will be back soon. Downside of giving a complimentary review is that I might struggle to book in future!
A true gem of a restaurant. Warm welcome, attentive service, excellent standard all around. Superb selection on menu, catering for all tastes. We had a delicious meal and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Absolutely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed!
