10/10Looking for something a bit different from Bavette and Frites for our last night before sailing back to the UK. This fitted the bill - though more expensive than we'd normally spend there is no doubting the quality of the cuisine. We found the main meat options were a bit limited, and the pigs trotter was very rich. However the starters were very much worth the price (as much or even more than the mains). The large fireplace, ample chairs, impeccable service, and personal attention all made for a thoroughly memorable evening.

10/10We had such a lovely evening. The staff was so attentive. We did not speak French and they certainly worked to ensure we could comprehend all of the options. Thierry was a matter of the flames in the open for fire out used to cook the entrees. He made sure to touch base with each table and never appeared rushed with the customers. The food was fantastic and the drinks were well done. We'd definitely recommend and return. Thank you too Thierry and the team for a memorable evening!

10/10Friendly staff offering very good service. Our meal was excellent having all 3 courses from the a la carte menu. Lovely touch with chef coming round each table to talk to the customers. Our best meal in France this holiday.

9.5/10We booked a table as a last day of holiday treat on the way to the ferry. Excellent dishes to choose from, deciding on the 59 euro menu. Worth every cent, and an added bonus was watching our crevettes and steak being cooked on the huge open fire. Vast wine cellar with some very lovely wines, all served by efficient and polite staff. The star was the charismatic front of house, (was this the owner?) who made the whole visit very pleasurable. Highly recommended.

9/10Another Great meal. Cuisine is modern French beautifully presented and good flavours, but highlight remains meat cooked over open fire in restaurant. A great stop off for dinner on way to ferry, so much better than anything in Ouistreham.

10/10We were given this restaurant as a recommendation from a local visitor. It was amazing! This was our first meal in France and we are sure it will be difficult to beat. Presentation, ambiance, service all perfect! Wanted to eat again on second night but they are closed. Had the sole, soup, filet mignon, dessert all good.

4.5/10The chef is also the host, cashier, person who opens the wine and takes the orders, go figure. There were a few other helpers but they seemed unsure of their role and service was not as smooth as it could have been. The wine that was suggested to us since we were not familiar with many on the list was not good, but we sipped it anyway, just to get on with the evening. The chef seemed rushed and not willing to listen to what we were looking for in a wine, and seemed annoyed we could not read the menu in French ( we are not French). The rack of lamb was not a rack but some pieces of lamb on a plate, many pieces were undercooked and tough to chew, other pieces were well done. The sea bass was bland, with a gravy like sauce that was pasty with undercooked peas on the side. The desserts did look good but after 2 and 1/2 hours for a simple salad and entree we did not want to wait. The open fireplace where some dishes were cooked was nice to look at and a plus to the evening.

9.5/10Our best meal in France. Located in a 100 yr old building the owner and chef does much of cooking on the large open fireplace in the main dining room. Great calvados based cocktails. Fun amuse bouche. Regional cuisine. Awesome cheese plate and desserts. The apple ice sorbet and calvados to cleanse the palate was a great touch. The chef-owner came by to chat with the family. And he went out of his way to provide a kid friendly entree for my son. A definite hit!

6.5/10The decor is bland, nothing special ( apart from the fireplace which is lovely), service is friendly and efficient, the food is nice( the little nibbles are very tasty) but not excellent and certainly doesn't justify the extortionate prices charged !
