We have trusted this restaurant to provide excellent food and attentive service on several previous occasions. Today, they were as good as ever despite having a full restaurant. Delicious food, served with a creative twist, delivered in good time by a friendly, attentive team. Top marks from us.

We have visited this restaurant many times and this occasion the food was good as normal. However we were disappointed with the drink prices, which seem to have shot up since our last visit, and having to pay a supplement for the cafe gourmand dessert above the fixed price menu which we haven't done before.

Very busy lunch service. There were large parties in & there weren’t enough staff We ordered a desert & had to leave & cancel it after waiting for it 25 minutes

The restaurant looks attractive and the service was good but the food was a major disappointment. Things didn’t start well as the complimentary ‘amuse bouche’ consisted of a trio that I would be embarrassed to serve at home - a small slice of bread with pate and a cornichon, a cocktail stick of a cherry tomato and cheese, and a cheese stick. Of our two starters, my langoustine had not been de-veined, that could be a dodgy stomach tonight. My partners cold beef cheek starter (joue de boeuf) was sadly largely gristle. The waitress was very sympathetic that neither of us could eat it. Of our choice of main courses, my veal was nicely cooked as were the vegetables but the whole dish was bland and lacked seasoning. My partners ravioli tasted good but left a very strong after taste from too much salt. In summary the kitchen needs to do a much better job to keep diners returning.

Regular dîner here. Best place in Domfront for a good affordable meal and an excellent wine list to boot. Very pleasant outdoor dining facility too.

As always the food and service was excellent. The fixed price menu was good value as it gives an opportunity to choose any starter, main course and desert from the a la carte menu for a fixed price. The terrace outside was shaded which is essential on a hot sunny evening. Overall an excellent experience made better by friendly and attentive staff. I would thoroughly recommend

The restaurant is lovely inside and out. Our first visit was indoors and food and service was excellent. The second time outside watching the world go by, but service was very poor. Long waits between courses and empty tables not cleared even though restaurant not ful and young waiters seemed to be standing around doing nothing. Hope it was just a one off blip.

Very nice atmosphere in a great location. Wait staff were helpful, friendly, and efficient. Main course of fish was tasty but maybe a little bland and could have been presented better. Starter charcuterie plate was excellent. Would return for sure.

This is such a lovely restaurant and we enjoyed celebrating my birthday there. The new menu was good and the food cooked to perfection. But above all - the warm welcome and excellent service made this a very enjoyable evening.

Excellent restaurant with a good choice of a la carte as well as fixed price menu. Inside and outside seating on a pleasant terrace. Friendly and efficient staff. Drinks well priced. Thoroughly recommended.

This is our favourite restaurant in the area. We have never had a bad experience eating here. The food is perfect and the staff welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend.

We had lunch menu du jour which was very good, perfectly cooked fish (a good portion) with a lovely lemon sauce, well presented plate. Sweet trolley freshly made lots of choice including fresh fruit salad, various delights Mille feuille, rhum baba, strawberry gâteau with fresh ripe strawberries on top, to name a few. The choices were different the last time we ate there which included isle flottant! I feel the lunchtime menu is very good value and equally delicious for €15 per head, plus we ordered 25cl house white Sauvignon for €5. Worth a visit, maybe book table as it fills up quickly.

Le Grand Gousier never fails to impress. Despite there being a large group at the restaurant waitress and kitchen service was excellent. The menu choices were varied and the food quality excellent. We always try to bring visiting friends to Le Grand Gousier as the restaurant can be relied on to provide an excellent meal.

The service and food was excellent. We all took advantage of the set menu €22 which was a delight, the deserts being worthy of special mention due to the choice and the size of the portions provided. Service was great, with an explanation of the French terms used in the menu being provided without prompting. Overall, a very enjoyable evening meal. Highly recommended.
