Everything thing we had was wonderful! A tiny gem on Ile-Ste-Louis.
This was classic, traditional French cooking but lacking in depth, as if the chef had been at it so long that they had lost their initial passion. We had country pate, coq au vin, confit de canard, and tart tatin. Each one was a recognizable reference to the time-honored dish but the flavors were subdued as though “dumbed down” for what they perhaps view as a foreign palate. The prices were generally reasonable but that didn’t make up for an evening eating mediocre food in a city surrounded by memorable feasts.
Anthipatic servers and horrible level of clients. Really disappointing for a so well located restaurant. Even homeless people were inside during my visit.
Great food and service! Very quiet dining and relaxed casual atmosphere
Great food & service but some items, vegetables, were not hot. Sole Meuse was terrific & hot.
Wonderful, authentic French cuisine and welcoming service. Very atmospheric dining room. Best cassolet and sole meunier. Can't wait until next year's return to Paris.
Ate here earlier than reservation.
Outstanding food! We love it and are bringing our friends and families to experience that excellent food: escargots, bœuf bourguignon.... keep sonne room for desert!!!
We had a 10:00 p.m. reservation and the restaurant had only one other table occupied. We thought the food was excellent for the price. The vegetables were delicious but could have been served a little warmer. Otherwise, the steak dish and salmon dish were excellent. We would recommend this restaurant.
Not many other guests but very welcoming
Always a good meal here since at least 2001.
Thus restaurant is superb. A small team who really care about authentic food and are friendly, welcoming and charming. Great food, brilliant music, perfect service and a lovely atmosphere.
Really authentic French restaurant in some really old surroundings - very cosy and extremely helpful and friendly staff. I had the house casserole which was really excellent.
We were recommended to this restaurant by an American friend who had lived in Paris as the best place for beef bourginon in Paris, and she was right! Plus it has loads of atmosphere with beams and antique furnishings. Be sure to see the antique lavatory upstairs where there is also a big room for groups. All that and it was extremely well priced too, and located in the heart of Ile St Louis.
Fantastic evening. Delicious food and wonderful ambience
This is my favorite restaurant in Paris! Nothing fancy, a tiny rustic mom and pop place but the absolute best food in France. All of the customers we interacted with were repeats including us. Their beef bourguignon and cassoulet are amazing! They speak fluent English too!
Excellent food in a unique medieval-style romantic location
It’s a family run & owner place. Service directly by owner. Note the best wines (there are several) at higher prices (good values) at top of list. Cassoulet is recommended!
Unfortebutaley the food did not live up to our expectations. The sole meunière was poorly cleaned and the bile sac must have been pierced making half the fish bitter. The so-called filet mignon was anything but that: it was thin and tough. The vegetables that came on the side were probably cooked three days ago and kept warm in the stove: they were really mushy and quite unpleasant. The crime caramel (aka flan) was very grainy and also clearly sat in the fridge for a couple of days. All in all, a very disappointing experience.
