About the restaurant Aux Vieux Garçons

The cream of chestnut soup was an absolute winner, as was the beef confit with mashed potatoes and red wine sauce. The red burgundy the waiter recommended was superb.

Three out of four main courses were great. I had a Rump Roast Steak that was so tuff I could hardly chew it. It was cooked as ordered (medium rare). We picked this place as it was close to our hotel. I would go again but not order a steak.

Reliable classic bistro. I get here 3-4 times every year and they never disappoint. Good selection of wines by the glass.

My Sunday night standby, I eat here several times a year. Typical Paris bistro atmosphere, tall ceilings, mirrors, etc. Excellent service but staff has modest English so it helps if you can read a French menu. Food is always excellent, in my experience you can't go wrong with any of the menu options.

What a find! From the decor (including an original phone box, now used for storing spices) to the impeccable service and fantastic food, this really made our last day in Paris. If you're looking for the personal touch in a truly French restaurant, you won't go wrong. Try the duck breast- the best I've had in France or elsewhere.

The food was fantastic, especially considering the price we paid. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended great wines for the both of us. We went here twice during our 7-day trip and could have gone again if we discover it early. A great all-around experience.
