Truly delicious, authentic food! A family owned business, with lovely warm ambiance and welcoming service. We were even served the owner's homemade wine, which was a treat!

We had a great time at Axum. The food was delicious. The servers gave some great advice on what to choose and you really had the feeling of authentic home-cooking. Like the people taking your order were actually cooking it!

Excellent! The BEST Ethiopian food I have ever eaten! Belaynesh, the owner/chef, is friendly, gracious, and an absolute master of the Ethiopian kitchen! She even travels to Ethiopia for the authentic spices that make her food delicious and so much better than any other! Try the Kitfo, the Doro Wat, and the Lamb Tibs, absolutely delicious! If you want the best Ethiopian food in Amsterdam go to Axum!!!

We tried 12 different dishes between the four of us, and every single one was delicious (don't miss the mushrooms!). Huge serving, and though we tried to clear the plate, we just couldn't. A lovely, welcoming host, everyone should go and pay her a visit here!

Amazing food.
We went on a weeknight and the place was deserted. But the staff was very courteous. I wanted to eat minchet abish and it was not on the menu but they offered to make it for me and it was delicious. Perfect , home made , authentic ethiopian taste. My friend had doro tibs and he loved it too. The good thing is that with any order you get multiple small portions of different side dishes. I liked that.
The meal was reasonably priced. The ambience is not fancy, just very simple.
so, if you want some good ethiopian food without the fancy jazz - this is the place to go. I am definitely going back here.
