On holiday at Damanhur we booked this restaurant at the last minute through The Fork only because we could use the online booking system as we don’t speak Italien. We didn’t know what to expect and when we arrived the restaurant didn’t look very inviting from the outside and we wondered what we’d let ourselves in for! Through the front door was a whole different story! A modern, clean, beautiful ambient restaurant with an extremely kind, helpful and patient man who served us. I assume he was the owner but didn’t ask. Our party of three had the four course tasting menu and between us we had every savoury dish and three of the desserts. Every one was delicious and we felt like we were having a 5 * experience. Some of our party took the recommended local wine which was delicious. There was an extensive wine list available. We could really feel the love and passion which had gone into every aspect of the food, restaurant and service. We couldn’t recommend it more highly! As we left and shared that we were staying at Damanhur, our server shared that he had sold Falco his first cash register back in the day when he first set up Damanhur and there were only four people there. This was a lovely magical coincidence which rounded off our wonderful memorable experience at Balthazar. An unforgettable experience for three friends from England, Canada, and Australia. Thank you Balthazar and thank you Italy.
