About the restaurant Banca de Pau

Everything was good, although the service was especially good. I would not rave about the food, but we enjoyed it. The menu was rather limited, but what we got was tasty.

Excellent meal. Not knowing too much about the dishes, we asked our waiter to make a selection for us. All were really good. And accompanied by a good bottle of wine. Already planning a repeat visit before we leave Lisbon!

Really really good in all respects, but still expensive for the value. Would reccomend if you want value but not too worried about money for value ratio.

Legit Northern Portuguese tapas. Nice and simple. Killer wine, port, and aguardente too.

We come here every time we are in Lisbon ( every year) and it never disappoints . Sergio is a super host and loves to explain how he prepares his food, and where the wines come from. I always leave here with olive oil and wine to bring home. A nice break from “typical” Portugese tapas. His tapas dishes are original with several veheatable options, too.

Pedro was wonderful, explained the cuisine and allowed me to sample a couple of wines to help in making a decision. The roasted red pepper and dehydrated ham toast was outstanding and Pedro encouraged me to attempt to order in Portuguese which I did and he gave me props!

The service, Pedro, was excellent. The food, especially the bread sausage with ginger, was superb. Go here.

Delicious food and wine from the north of Portugal. Really friendly owner who puts her whole heart into the cooking and the service. Best wine we've tasted so far in Portugal.

It is obvious that the owners truly love what they do. They were engaging and friendly and explained not only the contents of the dishes but also the history. I would definitely suggest letting them guide you and make recommendations. This was a great meal and great experience. Highly recommend!

We had a 4 hour layover in Lisbon, and we just couldn’t spend another minute in the airport. We searched TripAdvisor for best lunch in Lisbon and this place was near the top. We made a reservation (which wasn’t needed) and were there via taxi in 20 minutes. It was mid-afternoon (3:30pm) and quiet. Menu offered great variety, food and drink. Service was incredible. We shared a few small plates and desserts. Everything was local to Portugal and high-quality. Server took time to talk with us about the restaurant and the food, and even gave us a small gift - a jar of blueberry mustard they made. Overall, a great intro to Portuguese tapas. Definitely glad we found this place.

Amazing experience! Local foods from the north of Portugal with products and wine right in store. Server was so wonderful- explaining the menu and making recommendations. We loved every dish we got! The sausage with figs was my favorite. My kids liked the grilled pepper salad. We all loved the zucchini noodles. The chocolate mousse for dessert is a MUST! Just go- you will love it!
