We got shown to our table but felt really uncomfortable when we sat down as it felt like we were put in a corner. We had to wait at least 10 minutes for the manageress to come over and ask if someone had seen to us to which we said “no”. Another 5 mins passed and one of the waitresses gave us a menu. After another 10 mins, another waiter came to take our order. We then had to wait 15 mins after complaining to get our drinks as nothing had come to our table. The waiter then proceeded to tell us that the bottle of wine we ordered was not available so then we had to wait another 10 mins for another bottle of wine to come. This was not a great start and then when our food came, it wasn’t piping hot. It was luke warm. We couldn’t be bothered to complain as we just wanted to eat and then leave. The only good thing was the manager offered to take the wine off the bill. We wouldn’t have paid the full bill if we had to pay things ag full price. It was very busy and it seemed like we were forgotten about and the shisha lounge upstairs was more important. There seemed to be loads of people coming and going from there. Wasn’t the evening we expected and we just felt awkward. Won’t be returning.

Well i and my family didn’t enjoy our meal, lamb chops no flavour or spicy. Then the pounded yam was not properly cooked. The jerk chicken was too salty but the environment was good and the service take long .

It was okay but I expected more than okay for the price. The seafood platter at £50 which is supposed to serve 1 to 2 could not serve 2. That was clear from the invitation by staff to add a second side of sweet potato fries (an additional £4.50) as it only came with one portion. The portions for a platter to serve 2 were clearly insufficient on its arrival (bearing in mind that a seafood platter once you get past the shells and bones does not deliver a lot of meat) and to top it off one of the sides was missing. Realising this towards the end of a meal I raised it. I was offered £2.50 off the meal for the missing side (the side would have costed £3.50 separately) but they kinda lost sight of the fact that I came to eat out and they presented a meal inconsistent with the menu and order. Cocktail was supposed to have rum in it but if there was any in there it was hard to taste. I think for the price they could have provided more as I had the impression it was more high end. Cutlery matching, bowl of lemon water or wipes or something for hands. The other parts of the menu could be great. I might have been happier if we ordered separate bespoke meals. Decor and surroundings are nice. Chilli prawns were very nice as were sweet potato fries and plantain. Would consider trying something else from the menu but not a platter after this experience.

Gorgeous was fantastic...I had the sweet potato curry and my friend had the ribs, both enjoyed. I would say there is a lack of vegetarian options..but I managed. The atmosphere was a little flat, but I think that was more to do with change to Covid restrictions announced that day, than to the restaurant itself. Will be coming back again.

I've been trying to find a restaurant that sells authentic Southern African food for a while. I loved the atmosphere and aesthetics of the restaurant. The food was excellent too. I will definitely be returning.
