Restaurant is well-located and well-presented. Staff were welcoming and affable, though very relaxed where efficiency is concerned. It is disconcerting that they do not dress in attire befitting the overall good standard of the restaurant.

Oh what a desperate shame. The namesake Basils in Marsfield was one of the great Sydney restaurants however the new incarnation is so very disappointing - the King prawn salad was served with canned prawns and a disappointing sauce. The veal Oscar for main was ok however nowhere near the previous standard . We will not be back

First time back since before COVID. Food was good, restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night. Service was fine and friendly. Needs something to generate atmosphere.

We thought that Basils had relocated from Marsfield and were disappointed to discover that only the name had moved. If you are hoping to find the old Basils in a new location, then you will be disappointed. The food was okay, but the wine list was ordinary and there was no atmosphere at all. The restaurant is simply the hotel dining room without the cozy ambiance of the original Basils.

Portions are small. Food was OK. Ambience - no special ambience, OK if you are travelling.

The food and the service at this establishment was fantastic. The decor and furnishings just a little dated however we thorougly enjoyed our evening! The Veal Oscar one of the best ever and the 400gm Rib Eye a big winner.

Our experience was a very good one. The garlic prawns were exceptional and our main courses were delicious & well presented. The service was excellent and the recommendations for 2 of our menu selections were valued. Overall, a memorable dinner at Basil’s.

Basils has recently changed ownership. We were hoping the same standards had been kept as it was very highly rated by us. We were extremely disappointed with the food quality and service. We will never return.

First time customer to this restaurant. I could not find the parking space, so have to call the restaurant staff, who unlock a car space for me. Food quality is good. The eye fillet is very nice. The only problem is we have to wait for half an hour for the food. But we will come back.

Basils isn't the same restaurant we use to go to. My husband ordered a ribeye Steak Medium it was well done. The wine list has disappeared. Wanted to take our order but we had no menu. Didn't clear plates had to move them to the side. Didn't clear empty bear bottles. Wasn't offered any water even though we had water glasses on the table. Sorry don't think we'll be back.

Chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner but our dining experience was a total disaster from the outset. We were unable to park anywhere near the restaurant until we resorted to calling in and requesting a parking spot - they finally allowed us to park underneath the restaurant via a locked garage. Matters got worse from there. Firstly they did not have the wine I chose from a very small wine list. Then we had to ask for water ( which was warm tap water). My grilled prawn entree was OK but 4 prawns for $32 was extortionate. My wife’s choice of prawns with avocado was sadly lacking avocado and the 4 prawns were tasteless (obviously frozen) and again expensive at $24. Our main meals were a disaster! My 300gm medium rare sirloin was small, tough , overcooked (not even pink) and totally inedible. They replaced the meat but not the vegetables which came back cold on the plate. My wife’s whole snapper was totally over cooked . These two courses were $38 and $39 respectively. Way overpriced. We decided to skip dessert and headed home very disappointed

Food and atmosphere was excellent. Restaurant has changed hands recently due to Covid. Some different staff. But the food was fantastic. We will be back, and recommend it to anyone looking for a special evening (it was our wedding anniversary).
