Excellent
Our waiter was amazing. He was so attentive, gave great wine recommendations, and was really funny. I can't remember his name but he was an older gentleman with salt & pepper hair & beard and a wedding band. He spoke with a lovely accent and really made our evening. If the food wasn't exceptional I'd go back just to chat with him all evening.
What a great place I would suggest getting in there asap before the next lockdown , Alway great to sit up the bar area to see the prep of the Oyster's
What a wonderful find. From the moment we were greeted warmly we felt we had chosen well. The Covid restrictions were adhered to and our temperature was taken. We were offered either inside or outside seating. It was lovely eating outdoors. The tables were appropriately spaced. The wait staff were all charming and attentive. We were served in a timely fashion and never felt rushed. The seafood choices were fresh and outstanding. My husband Selected the grouse and partridge Wellington which he enjoyed. At the end of the meal I was surprised by desert with a candle for my birthday It was a lovely touch. It truly was a perfect experience and one we look forward to repeating !
Lovely quaint restaurant and delicious food. Best oysters I have ever tasted. Monk fish & prawn curry was also delicious with creamy spinach. Blue cheese was amazing and creamy. Extensive wine list and cocktail was excellent. Just a little room for improvement though - starters were served and we didn’t have enough cutlery (table wasn’t fully set on arrival). Staff appeared slightly stressed and nervous - maybe due to first week re-opening? Bread was rather dry. Draft Guinness had a terrible after taste and we informed the waiter of this. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable evening. :)
Excellent seafood platter, would definitely have again. COVID-safe - actually really enjoyed the distance between tables and lack of music as it makes it a much more intimate dining experience. Though, because everything is spread out, we found ourselves waiting for service often. Will visit again.
very good value for money (Start Deal). Particularly liked the smoked haddock.
Rather crowded and noisy but food was good even tho' rather expensive.
The food was excellent
Best sea bass ever delicious wine and great service.
We thought the staff were charming and very helpful. We ate indoors because some people were smoking at the outdoor tables and we don’t enjoy eating in smokey atmospheres, although apart from that, the outdoor area looked very nice. The service was very efficient and the food was delicious. My oysters were very fresh and tasty, my husband’s tuna sashimi was very special. I had the fish and chips to follow and my husband had plaice, both of which were cooked to perfection as you’d expect from a restaurant specialising in fish. The wine (Muscadet) was good and well chilled if rather overpriced.
It was a very good lunch good friendly staff delicious food. Impressed by selling decent wine in carafes for those who do not want to buy or drink a whole bottle.
Bentley’s was excellent. Had the Oyster platter, and lobster bisque - both absolutely delicious.
A pleasant evening, fish well cooked and tasty, £5.50 for a small salad was chancing it a bit. We won't return in a hurry.
Very good as usual
An absolute London classic that never fails to delight and feels more relevant today than ever.
