Wir kommen jedes Jahr während unseres Usedom-Urlaubs ins Bernstein und sind immer wieder begeistert. Kreativ, gastfreundlich, zauberhaft! Danke an Arjan Mensies und sein Team. Selbst wenn wie heute der Strom ausfällt. Ihr seid große Klasse!

Essen war gut, hätte aber mehr erwartet. Hummersuppe war viel zu kalt. Seeteufel gut.

This restaurant is far behind a Michelin star. Service is good, location and view over baltic sea excellent. But the food: severely disappointing. The à la carte menu did not exist. The „Seezunge“ was completely overcooked and tasted more like „Scholle“. The cheese plate was a bad joke. In summary: try to avoid this place, unless you are about to starve and cannot find a Gasthaus, Fischbrötchen, Pommesbude or Brat-/Currywurst. Bonne Appetit!

Dear Sir, Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear that it is not all positive. Due to health-related downtimes in the rows of the kitchen staff we weren’t able to offer the à la carte menu. Instead, you were able to choose between a surprise menu (various courses) or the daily half board menu. We are sorry to hear that the “Seezunge” wasn’t to your satisfaction and would be happy to find out more about why the cheese plate didn’t meet your expectations. We would also like to inform you that we’ve yet never been rewarded with a Michelin star. We’ve achieved 11 Michelin points in a rating from 2021 and our personal best in 2020. It was never our goal to give everything we have to gain Michelin stars. We applied ourselves to making our (house) guests happy by creating excellent dishes and giving them a special evening. Beautiful modern setting with unobstructed ocean views. Delicious food served with breathtaking Instagram ready presentation. Slow service is painful at times despite a friendly staff doing their best.
