10/10Amazing food and top notch staff. It's an actual bycycle repair shop, and when you get past it there's the counter. Lovely, would come back anytime.

9.5/10I was bringing my Suocera to an appointment today, and midway between her home and the appointment sat one of our favorite dining spots in the area: Bicierin ciclofficina con cucina. To make things easier for her I’d made plans to stop here and we got to enjoy lots of deliciousness including a Negroni. I had a Giro d’Italia burger that was splendid (along with the awesome potatoes). My Suocera said she wasn’t really hungry so I ordered her an antipasto of Crostini with friarielli and salsiccia. When it arrived we were both amazed at how big the serving was! Definitely delicious and fresh (I had one of the crostini since my Suocera wasn’t going to finish them all). This spot is such a great spot for a relaxed time with plenty of great food!

10/10A small bike repair shop with a modest bar and kitchen. Highlight: enormous spritz :) Very decent sandwiches and burgers (though burgers not large). Good smaller place to have a conversation with friends.

10/10A very fun place to have a nice meal and relax. Bicycles hang on the wall as a funky decor. The owner and the staff are very friendly. The hamburgers are top-notch (and the battuta was a splendid helping of Fassona) as well as the filled pancakes. All the ingredients are excellent in everything. Even the buns for the burgers are homemade. We brought my sister-in-law and her fiancé with us because we knew how good a time we would all have. Starting with the cocktails, they were all generous! My sister-in-law had a Spritz, which came served in a very big mason jar. It ended up bigger than any Spritz I’ve seen at bars. My wife had a gin tonic and the gin was also a generous pour. I had a Negroni and it was mixed perfectly. The Giro d’Italia burger was delicious according to our guests, my wife really enjoyed the battuta and I thought the Strada (pancakes with smoked salmon in between) was delicious and a very generous amount of salmon. This spot is a very special place and I highly recommend it.

10/10Last night my wife and I had one of our most enjoyable culinary discoveries in Torino thanks to The Fork. Not only because it was a delicious and fun place to eat, but also because we wouldn’t have even realized there was a restaurant inside this spot if we simply walked by. The restaurant is Bicierin ciclofficina con cucina which at first glance is a bicycle repair shop. Once you enter you notice a room in the back — it has a bar with tables. And there’s a second room further back with a few more tables and a couch and armchairs set up. What a surprise! Once we’d gone inside and back to the bar area we were greeted by Stefano who led us to the back area and a corner table reserved for us — with my name written inside a cardboard heart. There likely aren’t too many restaurants in town where you are sitting beneath a bicycle hanging on the wall above you. A fun and funky look indeed. The menu was a really interesting one, particularly for people looking for a New York American vibe. There are basically three categories of food: salads, pancakes and burgers. (There are also crostini available as appetizers.) We opted to kick things off with crostini with Gorgonzola and sausage. They were served in a beautiful design with four pieces arranged almost in a butterfly design. The bar offers an array of cocktails including Spritzes, varying Negronis, Gin & Tonic as well as wines and beers. We opted for Negronis and they tasted great, more flavorful than you find at many restaurants. The crostini were excellent so everything was off to a great start. The pancakes here come with an array of fillings and Stefano told us that the head chef had spent a long time perfecting his pancake batter in a way to complement salty fillings as well as sweet ones. Some of the choices of pancake fillings included salmon with erborinato cheese and arugula, and another with mozzarella di bufala with either prosciutto or bresaola and lettuce. My wife opted for the “Olanda,” filled with avocado and an egg along with tomato and lettuce. It had a great look as far as presentation and she found there pancakes and the fillings delicious. As far as burgers, there are two more-traditional ones featuring 150g burgers of Fassona (the highly prized Piemontese beef). They all come on a homemade bun that is really exceptional. The burger I selected is called “Giro d’Italia” which comes with Toma di Lanzo cheese plus lettuce and mayo. They also have one with mozzarella di bufala and radicchio, another “burger” made with raw beef and a fourth burger that is a vegetable burger. A nice set of choices. And in an ode to New York, they also have one other offering: a pastrami sandwich served on three slices of whole wheat bread, with lettuce, cucumber and mustard. My Giro d’Italia was absolutely fantastic! I told Stefano (and later also told Leo, the owner) that I could honestly say their burger would be considered a hit back in the USA. (So many spots where we’ve tried burgers here have been fine but seem more imitations than having that real American taste.) The meat was delicious and cooked nicely to a medium-rare. The very soft and mild tasting Toma cheese made it feel decadent — and even the bun was a cut above. It looks really dark but that’s from the color of the dough, it’s definitely not a burnt bun. Plus the grilled potatoes were spot-on! Crisp in the outside and buttery soft on the inside. I was really thrilled with every bite. Just to see how the pancake batter did with a sweet filling I ordered us a dessert. The choices for fillings include Nutella, honey, gelato, maple syrup and fresh berries. To make sure we could taste the pancakes I decided this time not to go for the stronger flavors of Nutella or maple syrup and asked for the pancakes with berries and gelato. Wow! So nice to have all these tastes to cap off our meal. We really complimented and thanked both Leo and Stefano, letting them know this has been one of our coolest finds and that we will be back… maybe even sometime to hopefully convince them to make us pancakes for breakfast!
