Very nice restaurant, because of the acoustics and the many enthousiastic guests inside the restaurant, it was not easy for me to hear what the waiters explained about the food.

Despite the work taking place outside and difficulty in finding the restaurant we had an excellent experience with great food and very attentive staff. Price was very reasonable considering the high quality of the food.

Excellent food well prepared: The starter variations gave a wonderful overview revealing the talent of the cooks. The main dish was very nice and the desert variations gave the pleasure of a perfect completion of a delicious meal.

we tried the a la carte menu on a Friday (during the week they have a 3-courses menu). interesting types of meat (wild boar, venison, duck, lamb) for a competitive price. preparation is not amazingly innovative or tasteful but enjoyable nonetheless. if you have a sweet tooth, highly recommended the combined dessert (multiple desserts served at once). the place feels "gezellig", no special decor but wood furniture, soft lighting, and wine on display look nice and make you feel comfortable.

We had dinner at Bij Ons a few days ago with a group of 6 people.
We recieved a warm welcome in the bar downstairs by the lady behind the bar and enjoyed a drink here untill our party was comlete.
We were then shown to our table on the first floor. There was another large group (about 15) also on this floor and the accoustics at Bij Ons made it a little noisy.
But the food more then made up for this.
Our waiter did his best to keep our glasses filled and did a good job explaining all items on the menu.
The whole group decided on the tasting menu as an appetizer. 7 delicious tastings of the entire appatizer menu. Looks very nice and tasts really good.
The main courses are not your standard steak or salmon, but feature things like deer, wild boar and a catch of the day. There is also some vegetarian option, but this is limited. All the food looked amazing and tasted amazing as well. Personally I had the wild boar which defenitly deserves a recommendation, but like I said, there were no complaints for any of the others. Dishes are accompanied by roasted potatos and fries and seasonal veggies.
The desserts are worth saving room for. The Death by Chocalate is all a chocolate lover could wish for. There is a tasting dessert menu as well, and those of us who had this loved it.

Prices are not to bad either, about 18 Euro's for a main course.

I will plan a next visit to this restaurant in the nearby future.
