I made a last minute booking for my husbands birthday. We will definitely be going back again. The food was amazing and well worth it. I had crispy chicken duck in a Thai red curry sauce. It was cooked very well with moist and tender meat and lovely crispy skin. I really appreciated that it wasn’t over cooked. My husband had a lamb dish which he really enjoyed. Because we enjoyed our meals so much we opted to order dessert which we don’t normally do because many times we are disappointed. The desserts were top notch! I had a sticky date pudding accompanied by an almond crumble and a brandy snap wafer with ice-cream. The pairing of all three was delightful and the textures together were amazing. My husband has rhubarb crumble which he thoroughly enjoyed as it disappeared extremely quickly!

Great service and food to celebrate a birthday. We had a group of 11 and the knowledge, experience of the service staff was fantastic. The food was also great and we had an enjoyable dinner. Thank you

Was nearly empty, but took over half an hour to get bread. The food took ages to arrive. My steak was cape grim and was so tough it seemed it walked the whole way. The entrees were mostly OK though although my cannellini beans were under cooked and choizo over cooked. My guess was that there was only one chef in the kitchen, Basically over priced for the quality of service and food. Staff tried hard but were obviously inexperienced.

A wonderful dining experience. Lovely atmosphere, fabulous service and food. Steak was the best I’ve eaten in a long time - cooked to perfection and extremely tender. We will definitely return next time we are in Hobart.

We absolutely loved this little restaurant which had a classy yet relaxed feel and friendly staff. The slow-cooked lamb and vegetables for me and the crumbed fish for my daughter was cooked to perfection. Not to mention the amazing dessert! Perfect for a lovely night out. Can't wait to go again when we're in the area.

I had a delicious meal at Birdsong while travelling in Hobart for business. I couldn't help devouring all the bread with garlic butter, and thoroughly enjoyed the duck with green curry. The sticky date was fantastic! Service was friendly and helpful throughout.

Had a very enjoyable dinner at this restaurant that deserves to be better attended. The presentation of each dish, the flavours & preparation were 100% Unfortunately the online menu was more extensive than on offer on site, so the main reason for going was actually not available. Front of house staff were pleasant and attentive, the ambience on the night was muted, not many diners present. They deserve to have a higher level of patronage as they are producing quality dishes.

We were hoping for the menu from the website but this is not available. The food did end up being very nice. Service was reasonable. Seems to be a bit of hidden spot but worth trying.

Nice restaurant with good wait staff but food was bland and overpriced. Pork belly was tiny portions and served with mashed potato. Mussels was once again tiny portions and very bland. Please do not order the gnocchi, bullets with over cooked peas and no sauce, very bad. Beef rib cooked well but no sauce so made this dish hard to eat.

This restaurant is inside an Inn so its your typical hotel layout but nothing typical about the food and service. Amazing food and really friendly service. Generous serves, great flavours and excellent wine choices. Highly recommend.

The service was wonderful. Smiles all around. We had a special request for the food and the accommodated. The waiter was very friendly and can really explain the dish well. The steaks are a must try. High quality meat. The taste is very memorable and the doneness is excellent. Chefs here really know what they are doing. I would definitely come back here again. I really loved the food and service. The ambience is alright, it felt "dormy". Like what you would expect at a university dorm or lounge. I guess cause of the colors and the pillows, nonetheless it was very comfortable.
