About the restaurant Bitter en Zoet

All ingredients for a successful meal

Restaurant ‘Bitter en Zoet’ grows your meal on its own, Drenthe soil. What doesn’t come from the garden or orchard, is purchased as pure and honest as possible. It is a pleasant coming and going of guests staying at the hotel, guests who have visited the sauna or have been hiking in the nature of Drenthe. There's even a bakery that makes and sells organic breads and irresistible sweets. That's all you need!

Delicious food-very tender meat & everything prepared to our requests. Service was impeccable. Our waiter's English was outstanding & he was very accommodating. We sat outside & although the evenings are still long, a few more lights or at least table candles & larger table linens that cover the entire table would have been a nice touch. The chickens who provide the eggs for the restaurant were wandering about & the herbs found in our dishes were located behind the kitchen doors within short distance of the diners-very nice to see & highlights the sustainability of the place. I would highly suggest the restaurant but steer clear of the accommodation here as that is not of the same standard.
Dear mweaver1234,

Thank you very much for your kind review. We're glad you liked your dinner with us and oure services. We will take your suggestion concerning the table candles in consideration, thank you!
Goodbye and maybe we may welcome your at Veenhuizen again sometime.

Kind regards,
