Hands down, one of the best Italian restaurants in the Netherlands. The pasta , freshly made on a daily basis, is displayed in floury trays that the customer can admire before making a choice. Once cooked, it tastes as delicious as it looks, partially owing to the excellent sauces (including mushroom and truffle, butter and sage and ragu among others). Finally, they also have a few desserts, mainly cakes, which are not exceptional but definitely above average. The only real letdown was the coffee -- I am not a coffee lover myself, but both my companions said it was rather mediocre.

The best Italian food around Leiden :) We love the cosy small room and the warm ambiance of this friendly bistro. Pasta is delicious! and it is a perfect venue to discuss with friends around a good meal and good glass of wine.
Hoping to visiting again soon :)

It is very strange that there is no sign which makes their concept clear. Otherwise we had a pleasant meal.

Used to eat there regularly. The gnocchi was divine. We went there on Tuesday. Uncooperative waitress and stale bread. I asked for more bread because we were given a single portion to share for two salads. They were unreluctant and refused to provide more than a few scraps of bread. The pasta was good but it used to be excellent. The waitress never even smiled and treated us almost with mild contempt. I will not visit again.

Trudi is not a morning girl, especially at the weekend, and so breakfasts out on the weekend tend to be a lonely affair with just me, the coffee and a paper. Luckily though Marianne is a bit of an early bird as well and the 2 of us arranged to have coffee and chat at this little Italian, which is one of the best places to eat in town. Now Mar is a pretty lady and never suffers from a lack of attention and as we sat there together my eyes kept drifting downwards and it was hard to focus on the conversation. Was it her new top or some new expensive perfume that was driving me to distraction? Nope. What it was was the intoxicating smell of fresh bread and the hint of lemon oil that was coming from the best sandwich I've had in years. Ok, I was a bit hungry and that improves almost any food, but from the moment I took my first bite, until the last morsel left my tongue, my brain was overwhelmed by the realisation that in front of me sat an item of sheer perfection. Been looking for a great breakfast place ever since I moved to Leiden and this is almost it. Only downside is that it does not open until 10:30. Looking forward to going back next week.
