10/10Really enjoyed our dinner at Borax. Very attentive service, food was delicious and the drinks generous. The only issue I would flag is that while the food was yummy, it could have been a little hotter.

9/10This Cuban restaurant in Chueca is small but just right. The menu is limited, but everything we ordered was delicious. They did not have the cocktails listed on the menu (they were basic anyway) so we tried the Cuban beers instead - very good. The Tamal as a starter was terrific, large and tasty. For main plates, we had the huevos & vaca frita. Both were excellent. We were too full for dessert. The meal started with typical Spanish olives and bread - this was a distraction from the Cuban-ness of the rest of the meal. Will visit again!

El restaurante Borax es un viaje de ida y vuelta entre paladares y la isla de Cuba que se emplaza en el madrileño barrio de Chueca. De hecho, lo puedes encontrar fácilmente al salir de la boca de metro que lleva el nombre de esta singular barriada de la capital española. Utilizando productos de temporada y, sobre todo, de calidad, el restaurante Borax reproduce la esencia del sabor cubano. Platos como Revuelto de trigueros y setas, Tomate relleno de atún sobre salsa de salmorejo, Salmón a los sésamos con salsa de naranja, Cerdo asado y yuca en su punto y Ropa vieja, tamal y arroz son algunas de sus mejores versiones. La Tarta Tatín casera es un lujo para los más golosos que pone un punto y seguido a tu experiencia en el restaurante Borax. Sí, seguido. Y es que el final merece ser protagonizado por su ron añejo de importación y excelentes mojitos y daiquiris. ¿Preparado para viajar a Cuba?
