9/10When we booked online, the only option was to select the deluxe lunch tasting menu. We just did it to secure a slot with this very popular restaurant. At reception, we requested to change to the ordinary lunch tasting menu, as my husband and I do not really take alcohol. They were very accommodating and said it was no problem at all. That set a precedent for the entire lunch. Service was impeccable. Staff were very warm and friendly. For the atmosphere and ambience, what more could you ask for? A perfect sunny day amidst the refreshing greenery of the Sydney Botanic Gardens. Loved it. The caramelised market fish fillets (salmon it was on the day) was a tad salty, though. But everything else was perfect and yummy. Will be back!

5/10Our waitress was inattentive and forgot us about us and even told us this. The waiter left the bottle of wine we ordered in the ice bucket without asking if it was what we ordered, if we wanted to taste and did not pour it. We had to pour our own wine and keep refilling our own glasses. The exit gate as well after dinner was out on the other side of the city and it was very daunting and scary having to exit in pitch black to the middle of nowhere and not being near circular quay where we entered and not given directions. It was a great dinner and location but the service definitely dampened the night and then exiting your venue frustrated us.

9.5/10Beautiful setting but our table was very big for 5 people and the restaurant was noisy, so hard to hear each other. Dessert was outstanding!

10/10We always enjoy going to the Gardens and today was no different. Lovely food, great service and beautiful outlook. It was enjoyable to have the taste menu, because choosing what to eat is often the hardest thing to do!

6/10Great location and great atmosphere but the serving was bad. The food was just normal Asian dishes ( expected it to be fusion) so that was disappointing. The serving was bad as the wait person keeps on bringing food out until the table was full - unlike fine dining restaurants where they wait until you finish the course before bringing out another. Also, we made a dietary request, but they do not remember who the special dietary requirement was for so they keep on mixing the dishes around (different wait person brings out food so it was no point telling the first wait person who the special dietary needs was for). But anyway overall, the experience was not as great as what I expected.

8/10Food was great. Two unfortunate incidents when staff were clearing the table. Accidents do happen but I expected them to be more apologetic.

9.5/10It took almost 40mins before we got our first course.. we had the tasting menu for lunch. The restaurant was full. Once the first dish came.. there was a constant flow of dishes. 10/10This experience exceed all of our expectations - superb! The staff was very friendly in their welcome and knowledgeable of the menu, and the menu itself was incredible and well thought out. Very delicate, tastes but well defined and delicious, plus quite big portions for a degustation. Would strongly recommend The Botanic House :D
