About the restaurant Brasserie Balzar

Cry good quality traditional brassiere . Wide variety of selections. Menu good price , ala carte more expensive. Desserts delisiouz but very large serving. I had to leave half of it and hadpted to do that. Sole meunière was fantastic. Haricot vert wonderful and puréed potatoes delicious. I will def go back!

Balzar is classic French food and service. Tightly packed restaurant, historic, fast service, a must if you want the feel of the city. Lots of French people there.

This is a wonderful old (since 1886), typical French restaurant where you will find mostly established French people and very few tourists. Helpful wait staff. Light (2 appetizers) lunch okay. Try the "cafe gourmand" dessert.t#

A usual stop whenever we visit Paris, cositently very good. Nov. 10 was perfect: 6 Perle Noire oysters, special of fog on (kidneys), sole meunière , v. Searing Reisling, V. Meagan Gaffe St. Emillion. Very good service, welcoming atmosphere. We will return.

Very disappointing. Bad attitude upon reception for no reason whatsoever. We love this place and have been coming for over 20 years. Food was ok. Overcooked potatoes, greasy. What happened?

The meal was pleasant but the waiter's attitude was less than welcoming and in fact made me feel uncomfortable. While he wasn't rude he was offhand and appeared to favour serving others rather than us. My companion didn't receive an accompaniment to her main course which was disappointing but not disastrous. It was OK, but we won't go back.

Disappointed . Love this old place but really, we ordered the 42 € lunch menu and the starter was ok but very small, the main courses were almost tasteless and the meat of an inferior quality and the desserts were either too sweet or unrefined . Sorry, cause I love the ambiance, maybe it was just an off day

Good meal in a vintage, traditional Paris brasserie. From the waiter's attire to the menu and food, one felt like it wouldn't have been much different many decades ago. Unfortunately, our server seemed largely overwhelmed and was quite brusque, almost to the point of rudeness. Which made the experience less enjoyable than it might have been.
