Great waiter (Alberto). Very good food. Disappointing that the restaurant was out of most steaks when we arrived but the steaks and other food we ordered was excellent.

Very good food and really nice restaurant. However the menu and the orders were confused: the waiter and the cashier presented the dishes by first stating a price (£20) but put £35 on the bill. We discussed this but they agreed that they were wrong without however changing the bill. Pay close attention. The Fork discount was practically only apparent.

I booked the 3-course set menu for three people using The Fork for a very special occasion and was very disappointed with service. While I was paying the waiter (a young boy with long hair) refused to include our discount on the set menu, making us loose around fifteen euros. He said that the restaurant did not have any promotion related to The Fork even after I proved to him that I have a booking code and showed him my booking confirmation. I was very humiliated and sad. Never again. If someone else is using the discount, be aware they might not accept it.

On a weekend break in Oxford ‘The Fork’ came up trumps with this restaurant. We had a wonderful night. Cosmopolitan Cocktails were given when signing up for Browns newsletter which were a great way to start our meal with some nibbles from the tasty menu. Full gluten free menu too. The service was spot on, very attentive. Food presentation perfect and cooked to perfection. Excellent and will recommend.

Our waitress on the day was excellent . Think her name was Aurelia, and she was very pleasant and attentive . Full marks . Will be back again . The food was very good and atmosphere pleasant . It was my 68th birthday so a special day out

Burgers were lukewarm. Lamb shepherds pie contained several lumps of gristle Coffee lukewarm Service slow Despite Fork confirmed booking for set course menu, Browns said it was not available on Saturday.

Nicely refurbished. Food was good. Only real comment would be that the courses came out too quickly. We finished our starter and then main came as they took the starter away but other than that would recommend visiting

We ordered the 2 course set meal. The steak on the steak frites was tough despite the order being medium rare. The service was really poor. I had to ask for the dessert to be served twice, and to pay the bill twice. As we were in a rush to catch the train, I took the initiative to go to the payment counter to make payment, where the staff rudely remarked that I had no patience to wait for his colleague to pass me the bill. I paid by card, and when the receipt was being printed, he sarcastically asked if I could wait for the receipt to be printed. It totally spoiled my experience and I will not be coming back if I return to Oxford.

We chose this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. Booking our table for 8, we managed to arrive almost an hour early and the staff were most welcoming, finding an interim table for us and assuring us that we would be attended to whilst we waited for a dining table to become available. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything that we needed. At exactly 8 o’clock the waiter asked us if we were ready to move to our table and showed us through. The dinner was very nice, both of us eating far more than we ordinarily would. I couldn’t fault the restaurant at all. A lovely evening.

The afternoon tea was nice, I had a glass of prosecco and charged the same as if I was having a class of champagne!! The food was nice but there was not enough jam or cream for two people and the jams were stuck together there was only one scone each, anywhere else serves two or the scone is a large one. Staff were lovely thank you

We used to visit Browns regularly when we lived in Oxford 8 years ago and it used to be a favourite. Slightly disappointed this visit, I ordered the scallops which were over £10 for 3 scallops and they had not added the pancetta. The rest of the meal was good and the cocktails as always were fantastic. Service was really good, fast and friendly. Sad to see the large windows were not open and the plants which used to be amazing could do with some TLC. A nice evening but not as good as it used to be.

Lovely restaurant, reasonably priced, quite a limited menu but fairly nice food , the staff are brilliant and it was a nice experience for a last minute find on a weekend away in Oxford! I enjoyed it!
