The food wasn’t nice and not worth the price

We were running late for our booking because of delays in public transportation. We've tried many times to call and just got an automated message to call back because they were busy. We admitted we were 20 minutes late and when I showed the staff my phone calls she reluctantly allowed us in on the proviso we order straight away. The restaurant was not busy and we were told the kitchen close at 8.45pm which we couldn't understand why take a 8.30pm booking? We travelled from outside London to have a nice bank holiday experience and expected much better service.
