A receita original do Bife à Marrare confeccionado no Café São Bento sofreu algumas alterações.

About the restaurant Café de São Bento

It is never easy to choose a place to eat when visiting a new city but the reviews for the cafe de said bento where very positive so I booked. The closed door and the polished brass sign inviting you to press the Bell was very quiant and equally the rich red and wood of the interior was wonderfully comforting making it feel grand and cost at the same time. The service was impeccable thanks to Manuel and our food was superb. We had the Cafe de Sao Bento sauce on a Filet steak with french fries and Spinach followed by a Creme Brulee that was lovely. Definitely a find worth visiting but I just hope it does not change if it is too popular.

Very quiet, traditional steakhouse across the road from the parliament. The steaks are pretty good, but somewhat overpriced. Good service.

Despite having booked I was put in the most awkward table in the place, i’m Assuming because I was a woman dining alone as there were other small tables that were empty. Meant I spent the entire night with a draft at my back. Kind of spoiled an otherwise nice night
