About the restaurant Café du Levant

We walked out . After being shown to a table and given a menu we were completely ignored. They couldn’t have cared in the least . What a dreadful place !!

What a kind and efficient service!! We went on a monday night, 20h30 reservation, restaurant was empty and we weren't expecting much... But we were surprised with the smiles and politeness of the staff! And the food was really good as well. With the discount from The Fork, it was a reasonable price for good food and great service.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our French host. We arrived at our reservation time of 9pm and decided just to order a main course and glass of wine. With our limited French and the waiter's limited English we were able to communicate quite well. Our meals were served on cold plates and the food was luke warm. The good mix of vegetables was totally overcooked and mushy. My duck breast was tough and my wife's fish also overcooked. At the end of a long day we just wanted to leave and catch up on our sleep.

Obviously complete lack of proper teamwork - both kitchen and front of house. Served by 6 different staff when it seemed to suit them! Shocking lack of systems.

Middling marinated salmon, good muscles, indifferent french fries, friendly service. A beautiful establishment that could be more than the acceptable train station restaurant it is.

We used Cafe du Levant for a party of eight as a two-hour lunchtime stop between two train journeys. Conveniently located right across the road from the station. Good food, good service and good value in a lovely setting.
