It’s important to note that the food here was very good and deserving of its reputation. It also should be mentioned that the overall demeanor of the service staff could best be described in our opinion as indifferent and tedious. This vibe prevailed throughout the meal and left us with the general impression that the restaurant is a bit full of itself. These observations are in comparison to other restaurants in Lyon. Summary: excellent food, but service staff could increase attentiveness toward guests and try to display a more pleasant demeanor.

A restaurant which uses local in season produce in the best way! Service was friendly and prompt. Sommelier was helpful and a great asset for the restaurant. Tucked away in a side street meant it a prize to be found! Well done!!

Excellent, recommended by others and met expectations. Service staff tried hard and it showed. Because of Rugby, they were out of some of their best wines by the glass, but otherwise, just fine. The only thing was, I wanted to take a pic of the roasted chicken for two they brought to the table to show before they carved it, but the waiter was so busy, he wisked it away so fast, I didn’t have time. Otherwise it was the best, moist, most flavorful Bress chicken I have had, with an excellent shared side dish of small potatoes served in a small copper sauce pan. The same with the veggies on top of puréed celery and something else I couldn’t place. Nothing was too heavy. Great ambience and location. Very happy with our choice.

Nice little restaurant that serves excellent French food with a great wine selection. Perfect when you want an easy and casual setting with good food. Our experience was unfortunately marred by the server we had who perhaps is the most friendly though she was overall polite.

Visited this restaurant twice while in Lyon for 2 weeks. First time was great. In the smaller bar next door. Great service. Great food. The second visit was in the main restaurant. Food wasn’t as great. Wait staff were fantastic but the attitude and rudeness of the blonde guy and I think the sommelier, wouldn’t know because we had no wine service, was terrible. Rude. Shame they ruined our night.

This fantastic restaurant is the perfect spot if you’re looking for high quality wines, food that is masterfully prepared and delicious, knowledgeable service staff, and an unforgettable ambiance. All of these things made the afternoon special for us and our visiting friends from out of town. We will be bringing more of our visitors back to Cafe Terroir!

My tomato tartlette starter was simply delicious. The tomato skins were just shy of bursting and the bed of basil it sat upon was subtle in its earthy flavor and not at all salty. The Roasted Pistachio sausage with the Maison Sibilia red wine sauce was wonderful. The pistachios added the right amount of subtle flavor with texture, while the red wine sauce was a gentle accompaniment to the sausage unlike the way mustard sauces can sometimes over power the taste of the meat. Gorgeous meal served with a wonderful 2016 Clos des Grives from Croze-Hermitage.

The rotisserie steak was phenomenal- tender, perfectly cooked and best steak we have had in France. The chartreuse frozen cocktail was also delicious. Very friendly service too.

We were recommended Cafe Terroir by our local wine shop owner. It was an amazing choice. We loved our dishes: escargots, soft boiled egg, the veal tartare and veal chops. The accompanying wine went perfect with our food and the service was great too. We will def come back on our next trip to Lyon.

This little restaurant is a gem. Cosy, casual and charming set at the end of small street.The ambiance was relaxing and the service was friendly and excellent. The food was perfect without being exciting. Recommended.

What a lovely restaurant. The staff were so friendly and professional, very helpful with any recommendations you need. Extensive wine list with caring sommeliers. The food was excellent, the highlight was best Rôtisserie chicken I've ever had. Moist with thin crispy skin, topped with divine saffron morels sauce.
