We were seated out the front where it was under the shade and had a lot of wind passing through it. Because of this, we asked to take a seat instead and the owner mentioned that it was booked out but this was not the case for the entire duration of our meal there.

Delicious food here..however, servings are small i think Great customer service. The place has a rustic vibe. We had the eggplant dip which was delicious and their mixed grill is a must try

This restaurant is amazing! Definitely I’m going again, the staff were amazing and cheerful. I really recommend it. Very good food and it’s so egyption.

We ordered as recommended by the chef - we were surprised to hear “because you’ve made a booking through the Fork you HAVE to buy 1 entree pp and 1 main pp”. This was not made clear upon booking. We enjoyed our food, particularly the chicken skewers and garlic dip, however we did ask to swap one of the dips in the trio plate and the wrong dip was brought out which we didn’t like. On the pricier side, but quality food.

Delicious and tasty food at really reasonable prices. I'd definitely go back and have another mixed plate. The garlic sauce and hommus were also really good.

The owner and team were really friendly, the vine leaves were great. Loved the mixed grill. It seems many dishes came with hummus or tzatziki so there’s no need to get a trio of dips if you’re getting dishes that already have that, in my opinion. Lovely place to grab a bite.

We were also told that to get the 30 per cent off, we had to order an entree and a main, although we had already added some extra skewers on the main and they didn't have the tagine we wanted. Fork didn't say anything about this condition. So we just ordered a tagine that they had and it came out salty. Music was blaring loud and tasteless and we had a baby with us. I had the runs when I got home so I won't come back.

Whilst Cairo Gourmet Restaurant offers fast and friendly service, with a relaxed and unpretentious vibe, the food is good ... but not great. Serving sizes are very small (for the steep prices) and the food lacking in seasoning (salt, cumin, mixed spice, garlic, lemon etc ...). Despite ordering two starters and three main dishes between three people, we left feeling unsatisfied and ended up getting hot chips on the way home. I also had to ask for the 30% discount offer. Unfortunately, I won't be rushing back any time soon.
