10/10We were welcomed by a very friendly and competent staff. We tried the local beef and were in for a real treat. The meat was very tender and prepared in a delicious sauce. We highly recommend this place in the middle of the historical center of Málaga.

9/10The food was delicious and so tasty. We were reccomend the fresh tomato and garlic salad which was so fresh and tasty, the grilled steak was perfectly cooked and the croquettes were a nice bit to start. Little hectic this week as it was the Easter period and lots of people in the town. However I am sure it is usually more calm.

6.5/10THE TWO DISHES I CHOSE WERE NOT AVAILABLE BUT I WASN'T TOLD IN ADVANCE. WE ORDERED SPARKLING WATER -FLAT WAS SERVED.. SERVICE WAS VERY SLOW. THE BREAD WAS EXCELLENT. FOOD QUALITY GOOD. THE CHEESE CAKE WAS VERY SMALL. OVERALL OK. OVERALL . JUST OK.

2/10Previous reviews led to high expectations. What occured was the worst experience during our stay in Malaga The staff / manager couldn't careless Castellana soup tasted like dish water Main courses of a leg of lamb which was so dry and had to be chewed for an eternity and was still difficult to swallow was a disaster. Oven cooked potatoes were not hot just luke warm. Beef entrecote under cooked and inedible. Waiters apologetic but the manager refused any concession. Atmosphere horrendous with a very table of 15 adding to horrendous experience. How this establishment has been rated so highly beggars belief. Such a wonderful array of restaurants in close proximity AVOID AVOID. Hope this helps you make the correct choice. Just not Cantarrana !!!

10/10Superb food, cava and friendly professional service all at a very reasonable price. We both chose alternative fish courses cooked and presented wonderfully well. Thoroughly recommend the cooked cheesecake which is completely different to what we have in the UK.

10/10First visit to Malaga and checked out Tripadvisor for good restaurants. I went off the reviews for this place and I’m so glad we did trust them! It’s a great little place, the food was excellent and the staff are very friendly and attentive, explaining the dishes and the wines without prompting. The starters we had, Black pudding & the mixed croquettes were so tasty, and Pork dish was beautiful! If I’m in Malaga again I will definitely book here again! Fully recommend anyone to try it.

10/10For our first meal in Malaga, this was fantastic! The local wine was very good. The wait state was warm, welcoming and helpful. I had the roast pork tenderloin which was tender and succulent. My wife had grill chicken, a large portion, which had a wonderful flavor. The bread and olive oil, at additional cost, was a great starter. We also has a croquette appetizer. A anise aperitif was provided complementary. I hope i have an opportunity to return. Highly recommended.

10/10Just an absolute Gem to find in the back streets close to the Cathedral - you know you've got it right in Malaga when the menu is a simple one page - we had a team of 9 - we went through most of the starters and were delighted with the flavor and quality, super friendly staff, well priced - if anything underpriced for the quality of ingredients! highly recommend!

10/10Mave took care us us with the assistance of another young lady. Ambiance, service and food were all outstanding. Mave was fun and provided a couple of excellent suggestions regarding food and wine choices. All of our dishes were flavorful and elegantly plated. We loved this restaurant and will return next trip to Malaga. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience.

7/10Food was excellent although a bit too salty. Disappointed by the service. Too much music as well, not really needed and out of tune with the meal and the ambiance. I nevertheless recommend for the food. A good experience.

10/10We had a wonderful meal, just main courses followed by coffee. The bread with olive oil on the side was delicious. My veggie meal of artichoke 2 ways with poached egg and jamon iberico was so good - we would definitely return. Lovely fine.

5/10Food quality was mixed. The asparagus was terrible and the sautéed vegetables were bathed in thyme. The service was polite and well meaning, but uneven. They charged for bread, I hate that.

9.5/10We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Cantarrana. The service was really excellent from start to finish as was the food. We all chose a different main course and each was delicious . We have been visiting Malaga for years and this surely is one of the best restaurants we have visited. What a find we will be back.

6/10We were welcomed in but there was only one member of staff who spoke English. We had to wait quite a while for service and there were no vegetarian mains. I had a starter and a side. The food was nice but something we could easily have made at home in 5 minutes. Nothing special at all. Very disappointed overall...

10/10Very comfortable atmosphere, service from the team was outstanding. Good recommendations of wine and food from the staff. My husband had the ribs and I had pork, both served with creative sauces and herbs and we ordered sides of potatoes and veggies to share. Overall pleased with the experience????
