My husband did turn today 67 years young. We wanted to celebrate this occasion in a special place with delicious food and drinks. We did choose for Cantina di David since we knew that food is simply delicious and we weren’t disappointed. We loved the food, and the service. Very attentive to our wishes. We loved this evening in the restaurant.

Great atmosphere and very attentive staff. The food is amazing and the wine list is quite diverse. We had the lamb shank, the seafood pasta and tried the crème brûlée as well - the dishes didn’t disappoint ????????

The food and service were good! However I would never eat here at full price, neither are so good! Dinner for 3 cost the same as a flight to Italy!

This was an evening out with our son, siting on the bank of the canal on a beautiful evening in Utrecht. What could go wrong, in fact nothing, the service was efficient and friendly, the food was presented and tasted well and the wines were delicious.

Moment dat ik kwam binnenlopen leek het restaurant erg rustig, totdat je links afslaat naar een extra ruimte. Je wordt warm ontvangen door fijne muziek, lekkere Italiaanse keuken en aardig personeel. Eten en drinken goed!

Cosy Italian place in the center of Utrecht. At first I had mixed feelings about the place last year as the pasta I tried was mediocre. This year the food experience at this place was at another level. The octopus appetizer was the tastiest octopus dish I tried in non-mediteranean europe ever. Among pasta dishes I would recommend Bolognese with wagyu ragou and pasta with truffle. Wine selection is full of interesting options including German natural wines ???? the service is very friendly and tactful. The downside is that bread is not served as a default warm up starter as in most other Italian restaurants. Also the waiting time for food may vary and depend on the busyness of the place, which is another good reason to have bread with olive oil as a starter.

Yesterday we visited this place for the first time with a group of 5 people. The atmosphere and location were amazing, and the ladies that served our food were super lovely (especially the bartender lady from Napoli). Everything was great until the moment our food arrived... I ordered black Angus tartar...it was anything by tartar and the taste was non-existent. No spices, nothing was added to the meat. Moreover, they served it with a massive ball of sweet whipped cream on top of it which made it simply disgusting. I had to scoop out the whipped cream and finish the semi-sweet meat. The lobster was ok, but definitely not worth 37,5€. My colleague ordered a steak, which was "the worst and the most tasteless steak I've ever had in my life, and I'm a massive steak foodie"- to quote his exact words. The price for that bland piece was 42,50€... The only amazing dish was Tiramisu, which we ordered together with tea. But even here it was ruined by bringing tea 15 mins after we finished our dessert... Also, this place has literally 1(!) toilet for hundreds of guests and every visit to the bathroom included 10-15 mins of waiting which felt like a queue at the supermarket. What a joke. And the cherry on top of the cake was a group of Turkish people sitting next to us (the man looked and acted like he was the owner of the place), who was smoking non-stop and blowing smoke onto our table, making us cough and smell like an ashtray. I understand people are allowed to smoke outside, but basic respect and decency go a long way, especially if you are the owner of the place. All and all, it was our first and the last time at this place, unfortunately. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Great food — a bit pricey but totally worth the experience. Loved location (on the Oudegracht at wharf level) and loved the linguini with half lobster (my lobster seemed to have been on a hunger strike though — very little meat), liked the pasta with tartufo and spinach and the fish also was great.

Ambience is very nice, the waitresses from Portugal and Italy were very friendly and we had a lot of fun with them. The food and wine were great. Will certainly visit this restaurant again.
