9.5/10Lovely diner on the terrace with a great ambiance. It was really busy so the waiting time was a bit longer, but no problem at all! The food was excellent. Sadly no choice of desserts for pregnant women (all with alcohol or raw eggs).

2/10After being ignored for five minutes with a reservation, we waited 10 minutes to be seated, only for us to stand in a crammed area, waiting for our waiter to clean the table. After the table was “cleaned”, we were surrounded by flies, dead plants and a moldy umbrella. After waiting for 35 minutes more to order drinks and no attempt from the waiters to look in our direction, we decided to leave. What makes it even worse is; I mentioned this was for a birthday and were asked to accommodate for this. Horrible experience overall.

6.5/10Absolutely not coming back. I ordered wine pairing and was particularly delighted by the last bottle. When I politely asked for the name of the wine maker, the server replied condescendingly, "Oh, it is Valpolicella Ripasso." I explained that I knew the type of wine and was asking for the wine maker's name. She just repeated "Valpolicella Ripasso" and shrugged. After a third attempt to clarify my question, she repeated the same response and walked away. It felt dismissive, either due to a language barrier or because I’m Asian. To make matters worse, when my husband and I left the restaurant, we overheard the staff whispering "Valpolicella Ripasso" behind our backs, as if mocking us. Totally unacceptable.

7.5/10Nice food as always. But bummer was that one of our wine glasses was chipped and when we mentioned that the waitress poured the wine from the chipped glass to an unchipped glass in front of our eyes.. :-/ what if there was broken glass swimming in the wine?

10/10So cute and very authentic with the staff being Italian and the food being some of the best Italian I’ve had in the Netherlands and the US! Highly recommend to sit outside it’s very peaceful and cozy for a date or family or friends dinner party! Sits on the water!

10/10What a very beautiful spot for a lovely dinner. The staff are friendly and helpful, and everyone works together as a team. Everyone brings their personality to the table, and you're treated as a guest, not just a customer. The food was excellent - the burrata salad was so very fresh and sweet, and the baked salmon was artfully and deliciously prepared. "Interestingly delicious" is how my husband described his entreé. Thanks for the enjoyable meal. We hope to return.

5/10Our reservation was at 19:30, but were only able to order at 20:00 due to slow service. Even in Dutch standards. On top of this, we received our main courses at 21:30. Not only us, at least a few more experienced the same. The waiter was rude when we asked for information and didn’t provide a proper reason until bringing the food. After waiting for 2 hours for the main dish we asked (lamb shack) was cold inside. Ventilation was bad, it was very hot and smelly inside. Especially in the back part of the restaurant. Only ambiance was good, that’s about it. Ruined the valentines day dinner for us. Not coming back.

6/10My recent visit to this restaurant was a terrible experience. The older gentleman at the entrance was incredibly rude, and his intoxicated demeanor only made matters worse. He yelled at us when we didn't understand his reservation question and ushered us to our table with no courtesy. Thankfully, our waitress was pleasant and took our order. However, the same older man delivered our food and rudely asked who ordered what multiple times. The pasta dishes my husband and I ordered were overpriced and disappointingly bland, lacking any sides for a hefty price of over 20 euros. The only highlight was my daughter's consistently excellent salmon. I hope the restaurant addresses the rudeness of this gentleman and reevaluates their pasta dishes. As for us, we won't be returning anytime soon, but we hope they can improve.

10/10My husband did turn today 67 years young. We wanted to celebrate this occasion in a special place with delicious food and drinks. We did choose for Cantina di David since we knew that food is simply delicious and we weren’t disappointed. We loved the food, and the service. Very attentive to our wishes. We loved this evening in the restaurant.

10/10This was an evening out with our son, siting on the bank of the canal on a beautiful evening in Utrecht. What could go wrong, in fact nothing, the service was efficient and friendly, the food was presented and tasted well and the wines were delicious.

9.5/10Cosy Italian place in the center of Utrecht. At first I had mixed feelings about the place last year as the pasta I tried was mediocre. This year the food experience at this place was at another level. The octopus appetizer was the tastiest octopus dish I tried in non-mediteranean europe ever. Among pasta dishes I would recommend Bolognese with wagyu ragou and pasta with truffle. Wine selection is full of interesting options including German natural wines ???? the service is very friendly and tactful. The downside is that bread is not served as a default warm up starter as in most other Italian restaurants. Also the waiting time for food may vary and depend on the busyness of the place, which is another good reason to have bread with olive oil as a starter.

5.5/10Yesterday we visited this place for the first time with a group of 5 people. The atmosphere and location were amazing, and the ladies that served our food were super lovely (especially the bartender lady from Napoli). Everything was great until the moment our food arrived... I ordered black Angus tartar...it was anything by tartar and the taste was non-existent. No spices, nothing was added to the meat. Moreover, they served it with a massive ball of sweet whipped cream on top of it which made it simply disgusting. I had to scoop out the whipped cream and finish the semi-sweet meat. The lobster was ok, but definitely not worth 37,5€. My colleague ordered a steak, which was "the worst and the most tasteless steak I've ever had in my life, and I'm a massive steak foodie"- to quote his exact words. The price for that bland piece was 42,50€... The only amazing dish was Tiramisu, which we ordered together with tea. But even here it was ruined by bringing tea 15 mins after we finished our dessert... Also, this place has literally 1(!) toilet for hundreds of guests and every visit to the bathroom included 10-15 mins of waiting which felt like a queue at the supermarket. What a joke. And the cherry on top of the cake was a group of Turkish people sitting next to us (the man looked and acted like he was the owner of the place), who was smoking non-stop and blowing smoke onto our table, making us cough and smell like an ashtray. I understand people are allowed to smoke outside, but basic respect and decency go a long way, especially if you are the owner of the place. All and all, it was our first and the last time at this place, unfortunately. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

10/10Great food — a bit pricey but totally worth the experience. Loved location (on the Oudegracht at wharf level) and loved the linguini with half lobster (my lobster seemed to have been on a hunger strike though — very little meat), liked the pasta with tartufo and spinach and the fish also was great.

5/10Nothing was tasty but except for their wine. Also for 2 people they did not arrange river side eventhough they have space. So expensive for a dining , not recommended. Service and staff was good but overall experience was 3 out of 10. Do not waste your money just for not given vibe

10/10We all had the salmon followed by tiramisu and panacota. The Portuguese waiter was absolutely polite and charismatic. Food and service were divine and the ambience was perfect. Thank you for the great night
