10/10Strolling through Braga, Porto or Barcelos? I suggest you go to Guimarães to eat the best pork cheek in Portugal! The service provided by Maria and Nuno is friendly and professional. As for the meat, it is cooked in Port wine, and the sauce is reduced to red wine. This meat and Bafarela Reserva red wine were born for each other. Unmissable! And unforgettable.

9.5/10We enjoyed a wonderful dinner for two in the neatly designed interior of Casa Amerela. We had our courses accompanied by a three wines arrangement. Food cooked to perfection and a friendly service, were the ingredients for this memorable culinary experience. Also the soft jazzy background music contributed in bringing you into the right mood. Don't miss this place when visiting Guimaraes!

7.5/10My husband enjoyed his meal, a bread soup with seafood but my smoked duck salad was drenched in two types of dressing and I didn’t enjoy it, made all the lettuce completely limp. Staff very nice and good coffee.

9/10Great location, fabulous food,, lovely staff. Our dessert didn’t arrive, we were told it was freshly made in kitchen and hadn’t turned out so we’re having to do it again After 30 mins we asked for bill, the dessert arrived same time and on the house - it’s wS stunning. Filo pastry with cream and hazelnut ice cream! Yum!

10/10This was our perfect meal in Portugal. The Seabass and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The green wine, Portinha is the very best choice to enjoy with fish, or anything else. Everyone in the restaurant contributed to make this a memorable evening. I plan to reserve a table for tomorrow night, our last night in town

10/10This was a great restaurant especially the location as it was in amongst the tourist trap. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and the prices were very reasonable. The wine was exceptional and the mini kit kat’s with the bill was a nice touch.

10/10The square is idyllic, stuffed mushrooms and local baked Brie were wonderful. My wife had an excellent, simple sea bass while I enjoyed a flavorful dish from southern Portugal, seafood bread soup. If we have any complaint, it is the the desert portions were too large! We tried the chocolate mouse with red peppercorns and a local custard filled filo dough pastry served with hazelnut ice cream - all washed down with a lovely bottle of white Douro wine! An afternoon to treasure.
