Casa Amarela

I didn't really get to see the inside of the restaurant because the setting outside was so nice with the square to the customers and the staff ready and friendly to help. The food was great, the breaded cod that I had was ever so slightly heavy on the oil but overall the food was great. Would love to have a "tapas-only" meal there though, sure it is of great value because the entrées were sooo good!

Very good food in a very calm and beautiful square in Guimarães. The owner very kind and nice. The Douro's wine excellent!

The food was excellent. All tables had enough space on between to be safe for everyone. Really recommend the codfish and the octopus.

Friendly staff, but confused us with another couple twice and were still moving chairs around us at our 7:30 reservation. Husband's beef okay but lukewarm with salty sauce and potatoes; my duck with rice had very little duck in very dry shreds amidst pre- cooked rice overwhelmed by cheese. Our least favorite meal in our 12 days so far. The other American couple actually complained to waiters re. duck rice; we just won't return.

There were 2 big tour groups and us which was not ideal in terms of ambience. However we were served micely and the food was delivered promptly. Husbands steak was truly excellent and my vegetarian salad was fresh and nicely presented. Vegetarian options were a salad or a pasta. We were charged wrongly for our wine but it was corrected with an apology.

Brilliant restaurant in Guimarães. Very good service, super friendly staff and amazing food! We liked it so much that we went twice. My two little ones are normally a bit picky about food but they just loved this place and their amazing “Arroz de Pato” (Duck rice). And my husband and I, we just loved the pork cheeks -absolutely delicious!! If you find yourself wondering where to eat in Guimarães, don’t think twice and go to Casa Amarela. You won’t regret ❤️

Excellent food and service for a reasonable price. Location is top, right in the historic center but not a typical tourist trap. Highly recommended

This was our 2nd visit in 4 days. Some of the main courses offered on menu were not available , although our order was taken for the chosen food. This also applied to the desert menu
