We visited in late February for a birthday dinner. I chose this restaurant because if it’s Michelin recommendation. It did not disappoint. From the greeting by the maître d to the wine to the meal, everything was exceptional. Only one little critic: the waitress had a rather brisk manner and should smile a bit more, but she was very professional and courteous.

We enjoyed a warm welcome, nice table, delicious food, and good wine. Dishes and desert were large, well done, lovely presented, and yummy, the waiters very friendly and accommodating. We will be back.

We had an amazing experience at Casal da Penha in Funchal. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The fish was particularly delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience. If you're in Funchal and looking for a great seafood restaurant, this place is a must-visit!

We had a lovely evening at Casal Da Penha. The waiters were very attentive and helped us find good wines to go with the food. We had their paella which was really good. The place is definitely recommended and we would love to come back.

Fantastic menu, lots of variety, food well-cooked, service and ambience perfect. We have been several times over the years and it never fails to impress. Top-quality dining experience with 3 courses and wine at less than £50 a head. Give me that in a good restaurant in Britain!

Another restaurant we haven't visited for a while but we do have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. Reception was excellent and the service on the whole was excellent. If we are being picky but as this is a review / feedback and honesty is what reviews are about. Part of the service could have been a little less short, not rude or offensive just a little more friendly in general. Anyway about the Food, one of the best Bolo do Caco in Funchal, all the food is exceptional. We both opted for fish courses, i had Salmon and my Husband had Fish of the day, Sea Bass. Not one bone found in any of the dishes, worthy of a visit alone. All the food is Cooked and Presented really well and some of the best ingredients around. Wine is of a good standard and is most reasonably priced. A fabulous popular busy restaurant and there is a reason it has been around so long. Highly recommended, Book early as it does get difficult to get a table.

The food was really lovely. Rustic and 5 star at the same time. I had seafood crème soup which was absolutely perfect and tiger prawns as a main. 10/10 Thank you for a lovely lunch shared with my partner and father in law.
