The food and staff at Castelvernieri were amazing! We arrived with practically zero knowledge of Italian beyond the most basic phrases, but they were very accommodating and patient. Since our waitress did not speak English, the chef, Christian, personally served us instead. He was very helpful and we appreciated him taking the time to leave the kitchen and assist us. Plus, his food was some of the best we had in Italy! A true authentic Italian dining experience… 10/10!

We are traveling through Italy using Selarno as jumping off point, We just happened to be staying in the same neighbor hood as Castelvernieri. We don't speak much Italian, but the staff were very patient and accommodating. The chef is amazing. Great food is universal
