Typical vibe pre show dinner. Very busy which is fine but my request (twice) for mustard didn’t happen. I feel very strongly about having my debit card held while dining ~ I will not hurry back to dine.

Entrees were delicious, but the surf n turf was overcooked seafood was dry and tasteless, meat was flavourless and mussels needed something extra like garlic and chilli. Wait staff and front desk were absolutely lovely and couldn't fault them.

We came here to tackle the 1kg steak, definitely not disappointed. Cooked to perfection, as what’s nice juicy medium steak is like, colour is perfect when you slice it open, and they are one of the few who can cook it correctly. The peppercorn sauce was spot on. Also had the catch of the day barramundi. The seasoning is tasty and the fish is cooked just right, and you can feel it melt in your mouth. My only whinge, is that the service is too good that we will be coming back for more ! Thank you to the service staff for your excellent service, and the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal.

For a pub that is always busy they should be used to large crowds. Food took forever, we were meant to have table service for drinks, that was non existent. Went to the bar for drinks, one person serving! Every table was full in the place and everyone was saying the same thing as us. Staff were full on for the car park crew, obviously regulars, but not inside. I won’t return.

The pub was nice and not busy when we were there on Tuesday. Staff were very nice and kind. Starter tasting mix was nice, I actually liked this more than the main course. We ordered scotch fillet median rare, but it was bit over cooked and but cold when it was served after the starter.

Outstanding service and quality Steaks - we had a group of 11 during NRL magic round and it was very busy at the Caxton however the staff did an amazing job and food was awesome. Will return for sure

Very very disappointing. Staff were not welcoming, could not get anyone to order drinks. Went to the bar to order our own drinks and were chastised by the on duty manager as it was table service. The staff were rude, abrupt, and not what my usual experience at the Caxton is.

We felt sorry for the staff who struggled to keep up on what was a busy night with a full house. We ended up having to leave after cancelling our entrees and gobbling down our mains so we wouldn't miss the show at Suncorp. Seated at 5pm and eating at 6.45 is an issue I'm sure they will want to rectify for the future. (Food was very good BTW).
