It’s pretty amazing. For drinks we had Hippocampe wit( fruity,refreshingly) and Mariluna Red wine ( fruity, smooth and with balanced body). Both are really great. Food-wise We had the mix skewers, pieterman fillets and smoked entrocete. Adding some extra Kai Yang. As every time their seasoning and spices really surprises me with all the Asian inspiration

They have pretty descent meals. That’s the second time we visited this restaurants. The fish is very fresh and the mussel&prawn have pretty good seasoning as well.

Charcoal never disappoints...we had lobster and Melvin's famous chicken, thai nasi, and the persian bread...the best gilled food in South Holland!

Service was not Good. Students that don’t really care. Every remark we made was not followed by any action, like the wine that arrived much too warn, or the next glass containing half the quantity… food was not bad, but not excellent either. Tasteless lobster, overcooked vegetables, overcooked meat!! Noisy…. Better forget about it

The food was truly great! We had the brad with the aubergine sauce and it was absolutely delicious. A good option to snack on while waiting for the main dishes. I had the chicken with the piri piri sauce... despite not being a fan of BBQ chicken it was so good I may actually order it again when visiting next time! My boyfriend had the ribs which were super tender and tasty. We also had the mixed vegetables and the Asian vegetables. Both very good, maybe the portion a bit too small considering the price for them. The only negative note is the lack of possibility to have tap water instead of bottled one but considering the quality and taste of everything we did not care too much. The service was also excellent! Maybe it would be nice to have the menus translated also in English...

As Americans living in Holland for 6 years, we've rarely come across a BBQ place as good as Charcoal. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the spices on the spare ribs left us all wanting more. We all agreed it was even worth another trip all the way from Utrecht to come back! One of the best meals we've ever had in our time here.

The waiter brought the starts and main at the same time while not asked, wine was not tasted and wrongly served. Food quality was great and the location and atmosphere is lovely.

We had a reasonable meal here. One of the servers was nice and pretty competent, the other one was very undertrained and inexperienced. We had to ask a couple of times for a cooler for our wine also had to ask for cutlery for our main course, there was none put down or even napkins with our starter. My partner had fish which was lovely with nice and crispy skin. I ordered a steak which as the best place advertised a charcoal grill I expected nice seared outside. It was tasty but underwhelming. No charcoal searing on the outside... would not have not have minded too much but paying €50 per person and being refused a glass of tap water is not on. I get it that you want us to buy water... you are a business but don’t rip it when people have spent reasonable amounts with you. Won’t return because of that.

Charcoal, a new restaurant fusing Thai, Persian, and European cuisine without losing authenticity. Cooked on open Charcoal fire. Really nice host and owner to top it up. Highly recommended.

Excellent food! The service was not so good; we had ordered an appetizer which never arrived, but came at the same time as the rest of the meal. But otherwise perfect; great wines, and perfect grilled fish.
