About the restaurant Chez Flottes

"Located in the heart of the capital, in front of the Jardins des Tuileries, Chez Flottes is a family-owned brasserie of Art Nouveau style. The decor is enchanting, the stained glass, the woodwork, the soft lights reveal a cozy and intimate atmosphere.

You will find the traditional cuisine of French brasseries, pink radishes and its butter salted with Petrossian Baeri Royal caviar. The menu will satisfy all desires and all appetites. Salads, sandwiches, a selection of meats, fish and pasta, whose quality no longer needs to be proved, are proposed.

The establishment also welcomes you for your group meals. An indispensable location for all foodies!"

The service was slow and the server was curt. The food was very good and the atmosphere was typical Parisienne, busy and noisy but nice.

We were somewhat wiped from time change so we didn't venture far from the hotel.

Dinner started off quite well with the service, and the French onion soup was very very good.

It was straight downhill from there. Wait staff forgot about us. Food took forever to arrive. And when it did, it was tempid and bland.

we've been to Flottes many times. It seems as though the quality has been less than we'd become accustomed to. it may be that they're "dumbing down" the menu to make it more accessible to american tourists.

My husband & I go to Paris 2-3 times/year for vacation. We're familiar w/ the area where the restaurant is located, as with the culture. The place was fine, as was the service & the food, but we would not return. The place was willed with Americans (like us) but did not adhere to the French customs & cultures. The place felt like Chuck E Cheese's or some low end family restaurants. There was a group of 5 women (in their late 50s-early 60s) who just arrived from San Francisco. They were across the restaurant from us but they were so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talk or think. Another American family didn't control their children's screaming. And then another couple didn't understand the extra cost to some of the set menu items& accused the waiter of overcharging 10 Euro. It was an American circus. We'd not return there because of our own folks being disrespectful & ugly. I apologize to the restaurant. When in France, do as the French do. Whisper.

Overall the food was the best part. The pepper steak was outstanding and the onion soup not far behind. We were a family of six so they sat us in private area. The service could of been a bit better but I guess the language barrier made it a bit more difficult. Nonetheless everything we asked for was given even when I made no sense in my French.

Liked the "old" feel of the restaurant. Service was friendly. This was the only restaurant that had a high chair available, although this was larger comparative to the other we visited. We saw on tripadvisor that soups were recommended by a few reviews but we're underwhelmed by the French onion and madame Flottes soup. My husband had the frog legs which were blah, too oily and not garlicky enough. Perhaps we are more used to the fresh frog legs that are available where we are from. The toulouse cassoulet however was tasty and I would recommend. We had no space for desserts.

I did not receive my 10 euro reduction (for the 1000 Yums) that was part of my confirmation. Flottes said that they did note provide that.

They didn't have my Fork reservation- a bit old fashioned in that sense, but they found us a table and.a great night. Care if you book online close to dining time during busy times

Great food, busy atmosphere, everybody having fun- we had Portugese on side and Alsatian French the other. We had a real Euro laugh - mainly in French!

Happy to recommend

My teenage son and I were pleased with our dinner at Les Flottes. He is a picky eater and I'm more adventurous. We both ordered Le Menu and II really enjoyed my avocado in vinaigrette served with a bed of radicchio and blood orange (beautiful presentation!) and salmon ravioli while my son enjoyed a plainer meal of roast chicken with baked potato and pineapple for desert; it offered something for all tastes. The service was good, staff spoke English.

The restaurant was welcoming and warm. My husband had oysters and I had eggs and mayonaise for staters and both were delicious. For mains, he had scallops and truffles and I had the sea bream, both were perfectly prepared. One of the best meals we had in Paris.
