About the restaurant Chez Philippe

Great food, good service, but disappointing seating. Booked one month in advance and got seating at the entrance. Objected and was move to a spot at the central cash registry. Other tables available. Just not good and disappointing.

The decor and ambience was very nice and top quality.

However the food, albeit good, was nothing spectacular. The onion rings were dripping oil, the steak well done when asked for medium, and the ribs were drenched in BBQ sauce...

The worst was the service, ordered a bottle of wine and was never served! I had to remind the waiter to fill my glass 3 times (the bottle was left at a far away station). And when the meal was finished, we waited over 20 min for them to clean the table and ask if we wanted desert ?!

For the price/quality/service I hesitate to give this restaurant a 2nd chance.

Amazing restaurant. Everything we had melted in our mouth (scallops, foie gras, pork chops) and was beyond amazing. The best restaurant in Geneva!!

Food was very good, the waiter was very nice and very proactive in the beginning, then after the main meal he ignored us. We waited 20 mins to get our order for the desert then another 20 mins to get a chance to ask for the bill. In the end we went to the reception to pay.

Everything was great: the atmosphere, the meat, diner, wine, desert..but one tiny thing: courses served too fast one after the other and as soon as the glass was empty, if no additional bottle of wine, it was taken off the table. Give the feeling of 'service à la chaine' and as long as we consume, we're welcome to stay and if not, we're expected to leave shortly.

We were expecting the food to be excellent, especially when it was renowned to have a chef from New York. However, were disappointed as it was another typical over-priced restaurant with normal food. I had a Buffalo cheek dish with chocolate sauce and was excited about trying something new. Unfortunately the sauce was salty, although rich in chocolate. Another friend had the Angus beef and it was tasty, but nothing to write home about. The sides are definitely very reasonably priced and were tasty, but that might have been the only saving grace. The desserts (all three - the macaron, sticky toffee pudding and pineapple dessert) were also disappointing (too sweet, not sticky enough and the pineapples were not fresh - respectively).. We had wanted to try Chez Philippe out, we did and we will not be going again, unfortunately.

I like this restaurant and repeat often. However today the service was quite slow and 1 of the dishes ordered was quite below my expectations. I'll probably leo coming anyway and suggest to stick to their specialty - grilled meats.

Great food, quality was fantastic, nice contemporary setting with plenty of natural light but tables were a little too close together.
