10/10+3First time going there was recommended to my mum by a friend and we went for my birthday. We were the first booking in but it very quickly became busy and I can see why as the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Will definitely be booking to go there again. 4.5/10This restaurant is a poor variant of Thai and is far from authentic . Owner is British and we suspect he caters for those locals who have very little understanding of Thai cuisine. My wife was quite ill during the night and had nothing else to eat since Breakfast. To improve, stop making major compromises to local tastes!

7/10We have always enjoyed lunches at the Chillie Banana. But on 31 August Lunch, the food seemed a bit stale, especially the starters. And the actual chicken red curry was watered down and really insipid. Very disappointed all six of us!

3/10Let me start by saying the venue itself is absolutely beautiful but that’s the only good part. I don’t know where all the amazing reviews come from but the food is the worst Thai food I have ever tasted in my life. I had minced chicken with a salad for starters and was told by our waiter that it wasn’t too spicy hot well, it was so spicy I had to leave most of it. My husband’s spare ribs were so dry he had difficulty eating them. Before ordering his massamam chicken curry we explained my husband has recently had radiotherapy on his throat due to cancer and CANNOT eat very spicy food therefore, could we have a side order of coconut milk in case he needed to dilute the sauce. We were to,d that they do not have any coconut milk which I find astonishing in a Thai restaurant. Luckily it wasn’t too spicy for him but what we thought very unusual was the waiter brought half a pint of cows milk with the curry and said “put that on it, it works better than coconut milk”!! Now onto my dish which was sea bass in a sauce which I can only describe as a chilly type of jam. It was so hard and over cooked that I could not eat more than a mouthful. When I complained to the waiter I was told it was because it had been deep fried. In all my years of eating out, I have never, ever heard of deep fried sea bass. They did however knock the price off the bill as it was so awful and inedible. Needless to say, we would never go back to chilli banana nor recommend it to anybody.

5.5/10Food on my opinion was fairly average Thai fayre. Was a bit disappointed after reading prior reviews. Certainly not stand out and unlikely to return. My main gripe was the service… we had an 8:30 booking on a Thursday evening and at 9pm we were told the kitchen was closing and could we choose a dessert. Whilst the waiter stood waiting after handing dessert menus. Obviously we declined as we were still eating our main and then they brought the bill over. Never had ‘service’ like this anywhere before. We won’t return

9.5/10We have visited Chilli Banana on several occasions and have always been impressed with the consistency, quality and presentation of the food - it never varies and is excellent. The decor and surroundings are not ‘Thai’ themed but are well maintained and reassuringly clean; the service though is very Thai - warm and welcoming.

10/10I went with a large group and we all agreed that the food was lovely and the service exceptional. We all decided to pay separately for what we had eaten so this unfortunately caused some problems but it was all dealt with calmly and professionally.

10/10We chose the banquet but wanted to change one of the dishes. The restaurant accommodated this. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant. The staff were all polite and friendly. We Will definitely return.

9.5/10First time coming to this restaurant and the food is Ayummy!! I was impressed by everything; on the menu, but also the service and speed. Great with children and super friendly. Looking forward to going back and trying the a la carte menu (we were just offered the lunch menu)!

10/10Lovely and well presented good quality food, always a favourite when deciding where to eat. We ate the starter selection and curry trio, everything was excellent and delicious. Very nice staff and good service, thank you.
